are aloe vera capsules safe to take? I've read several sites that say not to ingest aloe vera.

Oh gosh I hope it is safe?
I've been drinking inner leaf aloe juice almost every day. Seems to help my stomach.

I drink a small amount (1 or 2 oz) of plain aloe vera juice daily (from Whole Foods or Trader Joe's) and have been doing this off and on for some time. I mix it with an equal amount of pomegranate juice for the palate. This really helped me when I was taking doxy and it had ruined my insides!

I've been taking GNC aloe capsules for about 10 years... Since 1rst dx'd with UC and diverticulitis. I believe it helps a lot. I just take one cap a day. I think it's 200mg. My pcp (who's so has Crohn's) recommended it... Aloe, fish oil and d3 are the only supps I take religiously.

So is it best to get juice, gel or capsules? And is this good to take while on abx? Also, to get filtered for those of us w/mthfr?

I would buy the cactus itself, get a leaf, rub it on my skin to see if I react. It's very juicy.
Supplements are always half dead, full of other chemicals, plastics, magnesium stearate etc...
I never had a good experience with aloe vera, though I heard so many good things about it. It gives me tummy ache for sure (I react fast to it).
I heard though people swearing by it, saying it heals the gut and skin, etc. Lots of good info about it.
it is just not the plant for me (maybe it will be one day, who knows?), but as I react to things that most babies thrive, well... don't take my word as final.
