The Burrascano guidelines say sleep is mandatory, sleep deprivation will derail treatment. So what do you do about Lyme caused insomnia? I'm spending 16-18 hours a night in bed trying to get sufficient sleep. Most nights I get four hours, sometimes it's two, sometimes I'm lucky and its seven.
I've tried NyQuil, melatonin, 5-htp, l-theanine, and a prescription for a 10 mg dose of doxypin - no luck.
Also - does anyone know of a gluten free multivitamin without folic acid - a natural folate is good but folic acid is a problem for me with MTHFR mutation. Most I've found are natural sources and contain something I'm allergic to. As a result, I am not taking multivitamins currently.

Topic: NATURAL SLEEP, GOOD SLEEP HYGIENE & ADRENAL SUPPORT [adrenal support by day - and that which is not too stimulation but nourishing - is essential for good sleep]
Also, if you can't sleep, a serious "lie-down" in the dark with soft music that is not going to stimulate the brain can help. Just avoid any light. -

On different Symptom Lists, I found insomnia under Lyme Borellia and severe sleep disturbance under Babesia.
Recently, I started taking Cats Claw and Banderol tinctures in the morning and at night (for Borrelia). And I started taking
higher quantities of Arteminisia (or Sida Acuta + Alchornea + Cryptolepis) for Babesia.
For the last few nights, I've been able to sleep without any Sleep Aids even though I still wake at 3 am and have to get up
and read or watch TV until I get sleepy again. So, knock on wood, maybe that's the answer. A few years ago, my insomnia
was so bad that I spent about a year unable to sleep either at night or in the day so I settled for lying in bed at night with my eyes closed and just rested.

It would be so beneficial for you to learn how to muscle test. It's easy (you tubes). Do it in the day time so you learn (hard to learn when you're tired at night). Also, you must be hydrated (water) before you muscle test.
When I can't sleep I just go over to my dresser and muscle test for whatever I need (I take a sip of water first though). Muscle testing works great. Many times it's yeast, so that is what I suggest. Try some oregano before bed (or anything that kills yeast).

Interesting, I'll try to research it. Unfortunately I'm no more awake during the day than night these days though!
I wish I could get up and do something, but that's always a disaster. It's not that I'm not tired, I'm just not able to sleep - and it never changes, day or night.
