I got sick in 2010 and was diagnosed with Lyme a little over a year later.

I treated with antibiotics and herbs off and on and lived with lyme symptoms until 2016 when I became much sicker with reactivated ebv.

After almost a year of staying in bed I finally started feeling better, much better. I started living and enjoying life again.

But without realizing it I was becoming manic and mentally crashed. My life blew up.

After stabilizing I still felt like I was physically better, like Lyme wasn't the issue, but mentally I have never been the same.

My personality is gone and my cognitive function is slow and it can be hard to hold a conversation at times.

I just wonder if the Lyme could be attacking my brain for the most part (if that makes sense)? Can Lyme move from your body to your brain?

I'm sorry for the long post but I feel pretty desperate.

Other, more senior members of this site with more knowledge than me (I am relatively new and still in the process of learning and treating my own Lyme) can speak to this better but from what I've gathered from this site, cognitive function can definitely be impaired and Lyme could certainly be the cause.

Other members can probably suggest certain things that will help you and recommend an LLMD in your area if you want to go that route.

I know personally a lot of times it feels like my brain is just foggy and my thoughts don't process like they used to. Things that would take me no time all to think through/process take much longer

Thank you. If I could get my brain back I might have a life again.

I just didn't think it could be lyme since my physical symptoms have abated but mentally I'm in a bad place.

I was able to get my brain back when I found out I was hypothyroid and went on Armour thyroid. That's something else you could check out with your doctor, who would run thyroid tests on you to see whether you're low thyroid.

Yes, derealisation and depersonalization are VERY common with neuroborreliosis. It's not you, its Lyme disease, I'd get more treatment (Lyme is very hard to get rid of and flare-ups after remission need to get treated or it will come back).

I have high levels of candida as per a recent Real Time test. I've been on a candida diet, low dose naltrexone, and binders and my brain has definitely lost some fog.

What herbs or natural anti lyme treatment should I start with?

Kinda my only option.
