my sister is 72 and not in good health. she has been battling e.coli for months. they have given her many abx and they make her much worseand have given her yeast in her mouth and throat. now they have her on tetracycline.

my uncle is 91 and has been hospitalized with low platelet, dementia, you name it. he's only 115 pounds now.

I've never heard of urinary e.coli.

she wants to visit him but is afraid of the hospital.

should she be?

It will be fine to go visit.

Urinary e.coli is very common. Usually it's from not wiping correctly .. or from the PH in the bladder not being balanced, so the bacteria makes its way to the urethra from the anus and sets up camp.

She might want to try taking D-Mannose every day to keep the bacteria from sticking to the walls of the bladder.

I hope your uncle is stabilized soon and that she will be able to visit him.

D-Mannose worked well for my mom who has chronic bladder infections (e-coli). I believe it has no side effects but please check.

I should add, she now drinks an herbal urinary health tea regularly and hasn't had the infection return.
