Hello! I'm new here and have a few questions hopefully someone can help out.
I've had many symptoms for a couple years and finally got diagnosed with lyme after testing positive with MDL Labs for bands 41 and 23 igg western blot and most recently positive for babesia micoti.
My doctor prescribed me 100mg of doxy twice a day and also has me taking Byron white A-Bab and A-L. I'm up to 8 drops a day on each and I don't think I've experienced a herx yet - although some days I have really dull back muscle pain. Would this be considered a herx? Is 100mg of doxy twice a day the usually dosage or should it be increased?
I'm wondering if anyone is on a similar protocol as I am and if you had any luck with it. I'm about 6 weeks in on this protocol and haven't felt much better yet. Prior to the abx I was only taking AL only with no luck however, during this time I was not being treated for babesia.
What is the best way to take all these meds? I take the Byron White formulas 15-20 minutes apart but how long should I wait to take the abx? Also taking probiotics and other vitamins/supplements.
Appreciate any help!

Sorry, I know nothing about the Byron White protocol. I got rid of lyme, babesiosis, and bartonella by going to a doctor who followed the Burrascano protocol.
It is a high-dose, combinations of antibiotics protocol. I went undiagnosed for at least 10 years. Still, I got well.
Then, I sent at least 5 of my friends to docs who followed Burrascano and they all got rid of their lyme also.
It is now 12 years since I completed my lyme treatment. I believe in Burrascano based on seeing it work in me and my friends.
Burrascano says 400 mg per day of doxy is required, plus another med like tinidazole to kill lyme in its cyst form.
On the Burrascano protocol, I herxed at about day 3. I had gotten lously lyme treatment for 2 years before this. I never herxed on the lousy lyme treatment.
It is possible that your back muscle pain is a herx symptom. A herx will cause your current lyme symptoms to get much worse and can also give you new lyme symptoms.
If you don't make progress on this protocol and you would like to switch to a doctor who follows Burrascano, let me know. I can give you the name of someone who has no wait to get in. However, he is near Washington, D.C. He is very good.
You only have to appear in person once every 3 months. You can do telephone appointments the other 2 months.
Welcome to LymeNet! We will help you all we can.
The best advice I can give you is to become an educated lyme patient. There is no substitute for a lyme patient who has taught himself all about these diseases and the various treatments and protocols.
If one protocol does not work, be willing to change doctors and try something different. That is what I finally did and it was the best decision I ever made for my health.

I'm on the A-L and A-BART of the Bryon White Formulas. I take them on an empty stomach and worked my way up to 20 drops, 2x daily. I did take A-BAB for a bit, but had to stop as we suspected I was allergic to an herb in the blend. Are you slowly increasing your dose up to 20?
I would consider the dull back muscle pain a herx.
Personally, I think 100 mg doxy 2x/day is not a high enough dose. But I am not your doctor and I do not know your medical history. S/he might be trying to slowly up your dose without causing you crazy herxes?
I agree with what TF said about finding a LLMD who will treat adequately.

Grakay, I couldn't tolerate a-bab either. From the get go, it made me increasingly wired like a severe caffeine overdose. In what way couldn't you tolerate it?
