Hello, I took the Galaxy bartonella lab based on symptoms and had positive IFA result for both b.henselae and b.quintana. The culture, however, was negative. Does this mean I do, or do not have bart? Anyone else have similar results? My only symptom is severe daily panic and lightheadedness.

It's like eating frogs.
If you had a test that detected antibodies to frog legs, and frog ears, and frog toenails... you wouldn't have any of that if you hadn't eaten the frogs. Right?
Cultures are VERY difficult to perform and they can be false negative quite easily.
But, if you have antibodies to both strains (like I did), you can feel safe saying you've been exposed. And unless you've treated it completely and all symptoms are non-existent...

Thanks so much. Yes, my 5 year old also has a positive IFA bartonella and we both have Lyme western blot positive.
