Stinging nettle cream - or Urtica urens cream. There is nettle in Ssssting Stop by Boericke and Tafel which can be found in the health food store.
There are other remedies that can help but the above is the least complicated.
You could think about avoiding foods that have histamine in them until you get out of this state.

TMJ appliance! Is it plastic or rubber or what?
If you can find a chiropractor who uses an arthrostim machine, that's how I took care of my TMJ for a long time.
It's called the Koren Specific Technique - I think they have a center and could let you know whether there are practitioners in your area.
The chiropractor sat behind me and had me move my jaw various ways, tapped lightly with the machine and fixed the angulation. He had to do this frequently for me.

Do you mainly wear the appliance when you sleep?
If you must use the TMJ appliance despite sensitivity your sensitivity reaction, then you'd probably benefit from trying an antihistamine.
I've found hydroxyzine to be the most effective one for treating intolerable itching and hives.
It can make you drowsy so you might only want to take it at night immediately before bed, when you insert the appliance.
If you need help during the day, xyzal is the best and would really help too.
It's safe to take the combo.
