- The thing is that what they say is totally legal within speech and advertising. While admittedly, the use of words, lighting, camera angles and music are very powerful, indeed . . . and clearly a harsh turn in their campaign,
this makes real education even more important as well as real discussions and information / education research time within families.
There is no body of advertising or US medical group that will take a complaint seriously, however.
They never mention there are other ways to address ANY viruses regarding prevention & treatments, though and of course, they would not mention the damage the HPV vaccine poses for some / many.
As for action: start with the second group in the posts below. Connect with others who have already major miles on the road regarding this matter.

- For what it's worth the new person assigned the top post at the CDC is very much in favor of vaccinations for babies, according to a news article over the past couple days and seems to be keen on stepping up the pressure on parents and schools.
Yes, there are some to think about yet the issues of number, timing & total ingredients call for extended consideration by any parent. -

I wouldnt worry too much about it. These days we are all basically convinced that all of the stuff on TV is either fake news or propaganda. Those kinds of emotional appeals basically dont work on anyone but the dumbest.

- Not everything on TV, or even on "social media" is fake or propaganda. A lot, is, yeah. But there is also a lot that is real and good information.
For those with kids, this can serve not just to talk about the health issues but also to help them figure out how to navigate the world of messages:
how to determine who are credible sources with education / experience not just as the writers, themselves, but in the sources who they interview and GATHER the materials whether in straight up news or even in advertising where the rules are different.
Also, that not all education is equal and how to determine when / if a scientist or expert has the basic foundation but strays in certain assumptions or assertions - and why that might be rather for a political reason or financial.
The documentary "Under Our Skin" does an excellent job juxtaposing the supposed "experts" in health government statements about lyme against
those of ILADS who have gone above and beyond to learn much more of the truth about lyme.
The illustration they use with the window shades being pulled down to represent who in the IDSA has financial stake in discrediting lyme and those with lyme is very good.
The film also can show teens how to assess discussions of groups of experts who have differing opinions to sort out when those might offer good insight or if they might be trying to hide the truth or paint it with the wrong color, so to speak.
It takes time to figure out who the real experts are, though, with any topic, time and gathering information from many sources.
I'm using lyme and the documentary just as one example, a good template or sorts for those who are already familiar with the turmoil around that
as a jumping off place to put the same skills to work for the HPV vaccine. Some of the other links in the vaccine links set have some videos that are excellent examples for teens to view, too, for critical thinking exercises.
In the end, this HPV vaccine commercial might turn out to be very educational - in the true sense in that, hopefully, most will turn to learn more and be open to all the information out there, using critical thinking skills.
Teaching kids how to be open to new information yet also to apply critical thinking skills, how to assess media, how to ask questions that really matter
- basically, how to do proper research for any decision they might be making or even any stance they may want to take on - might be the best kind of vaccine in a manner of speaking.
Show them the process of how and WHERE to find a more rounded set of materials. They have to look for it, most often. And they have to know where to look. We, as adults who have had to figure this out over the recent decades (regarding lyme) can shine a light.

I just stumbled upon this news article so it seem appropriate.
Hopeful news for an evolving & educated populace, yet the number - 53% - still seems so low to me. I thought most everyone would be using a public library or a library website [though some communities just don't have one, sigh!].
Still, good news that they use both the array of electronic services and also real solid books:

I didn't watch the whole thing... My thought is that the US and I think, New Zealand are the only countries that allow the drug companies to show commercials on TV.
I guess one could try to complain about it from that angle.

Just wondering? So many viruses are just "in" the human race and genetics or other factors might or might not trigger some of them.
Many viruses have been with humanity for thousands and thousands of years. We still have so very much to learn about how & when they hide as well as when & how they might persist. -

What about the flu vaccine?
How many times I hear stories that run exactly like this: no flu, take the flu vaccine, then get the flu days after???!
There was a microbiologist once that said he did not believe in killing viruses. Viruses are not even considered totally alive, they are soooo tiny, more like protein molecules than life.
How to kill a protein?
I mean, if it were only virus, even half alive, or totally alive, that would still be fine for me.
What is bad is all the rest. All those chicken embryos, monkey brains, cow organ cells that are inside, that are INJECTED in the blood stream!
No wonder vaccines are connected to rise in allergies: who is taking animal cells, even human embryo cells INJECTED directly in the lymph and blood??
No one!
Injecting foreign virus DNA in the blood stream still looks better to me than injecting foreign monkey, chicken, cow and human cells in my blood stream.
Plus mercury, formaldehyde, aluminium, detergents, MSG, etc.
No thank you: you can keep the junk.
Here in France, there is now a polemic discussion going on, as the president wants to force compulsory vaccines for babies and children!
I'm waiting until they will force Gardasil on us all. No way.

Why was Justin Beiber's news about canceling his tour the #1 news story on the BBC yesterday??? Fake news tactic or were people really interesting in this? Who knows...? I would expect better from the BBC but there it is.

It is real news - in that it's accurate in the facts [tour has been cancelled as reported directly from his reps] - though not the kind of news I would call important to my life. Yet, many people are interested as his concerts are well attended and usually sell well.
As for newsworthy, I agree, it's not really up there on par with what I would consider newsworthy - but I might be were it a performer whom I appreciated. Still, there is nothing fake about it even if it is "entertainment" "news".
They do cover celebrities in certain segments & sometime - and if on the U.S. video channel, they might cover it more than on the UK stations / sites. Sometimes, media consider it business news when a top selling star cancels a tour.
It was not on their website main page nor on today's. I don't get their video channel, though, it's nice to see it absent from their main web page.
Too often, even top news organization add in "light" news just so their audience is not so overwhelmed with the reality they report from the real world. But this can go overboard with some of the star power in the world these days. Sigh.
I'd just as soon see features on folks we may not know about who are talented, purposed and working hard in various arenas (that are not necessarily on stage). In their "Culture" and "Travel" pages, BBC often has such articles / videos.

I like music & culture just as much as anyone. Seems there's a place for news of this sort in the entertainment section. Not really sure why movie budgets, gross profit, etc. is really everyone's concern.
Celebrity news gets alot of air time these days. More like bread & circus...
