I saw this article today...
How can we stop antibiotic resistance?
It’s been dubbed “the end of modern medicine”. BBC Future asked experts to explain how we might avoid the worst effects of antibiotic resistance – a grand challenge of our age
It does not mention Lyme Disease. I started wondering if Lyme is or has become "drug resistant". The antibiotics may work for some people & they are fine. How do we know if the bacteria has not morphed into some other form & will resurface later in life as alzheimers, joint pain, heart problems, etc.?
Is this considered "drug resistance"?

regular strep has like 5 plasmids lyme has like 25, its has dna of protazoa and helminith . its already a superbug . in my opinion combo herbs , rife and bvt are the best weapons ,when i was on iv roceph the spirochetes under the microscope didnt seem to even be phased.

I have. Nothing works against that, only energy medicine.
I got TB due to lyme disease: dormant TB simply reactivated due to immuno suppression from lyme.
People who overuse antibiotics do not have to think about Borrelia and coinfections only, whether Bb is resistant or not.
That is not very important to know, for the moment, as it is not 'proved' yet.
Physicians don't even know when the patient is positive for Bb, so how to know if Bb is resistant or not? Impossible.
It will take many years from now to know if Bb is already resistant or not, just because of that failure in diagnosis.
Most important, in my opinion, is to think that DUE to lyme immuno suppression, Clostridium, TB, other strains that are ALREADY well known to be antibiotic resistant may be what determines life or death of a lyme patient, or anyone with low immunity.
I agree with Bluel, just try to use other alternatives than abx as much as possible, for your own sake, and for the sake of the whole society (your family members included).
I lived TB, which was not funny, and I even tried antibiotics, because I tried so many other things that did not work.
Antibiotics barely did anything at the infection.
I had anyway to look for alternatives, as my herbs seemed to work even better than the antibiotic. In the end, nosodes healed me, but had I not found the right TB nosode, I think I would be long dead.

Borrelia is evasive but there is no evidence of resistance in the classical sense.

Most doctors can't even find Borrelia in us, so how are they going to research antibiotic resistance of Borrelia, if the miss most of the subjects suffering from it?
There won't be any proof of antibiotic resistance, unless there are more sensitive tests to find Bb, and that the great majority of drs accept those tests.
For most doctors, you we are all taking antimicrobials without any active infection.
We are ALL cured after 2 weeks doxy. There is no resistance.
Bb is an easy infection to treat, and doxy deals with it.

It boggles the mind... doesn't it? OK, we know the abx work... there's no evidence that they don't. There's no reliable test, either...
