9 year old daughter on bart treatment with Minocycline, Omnicef, and MC-Bar-1

She is having a hard time ramping up.

The past few days she's been complaining of a sore throat and has enlarged lymph nodes. This is not new. I thought it was just a bart flare.

But the sore throat seems different than before. So I took a look tonight and there are several, small ulcers in the back of her throat. On her uvula, and on back of throat between tonsils. Throat is not very red. Her tongue has some mild thrush, but nothing to write home about.

Seems a lot like photos I've seen of Herpangina which is caused by Coxsackie / Enteroviruses.

Could also be yeast / candida. But she doesn't have any other symptoms nor does she have a thrust problem that I can see (although her diet has been less than stellar.)

I know lyme can reactivate viruses. But have people heard of this before?

Due to you daughters age, the major symptom of throat blisters, & time of year... Sounds like "hand foot & mouth disease" a common childhood virus caused by the cocksackie virus.

As she is not a toddler, the virus may only cause the throat blisters, fever, general ill feeling that lasts about a week. Depending on the state of her immune system, she may or may not develop any of the characteristic hand and foot blisters.

Treat for symptomatic relief with Tylenol or motrin

Thanks. She had HFM a year ago. Thus perhaps Herpangina.
