Thanks to Michael Tampa:

https://latitudes.org/forums/topic/11983-dr-klinghardt-on-lyme-2006/

A must read to understand what is lyme, why it is connected to so many other diseases, ...

how lyme existed for so long in Germany /Switzerland, even before it was called lyme.

How people were treating lyme in the 70s, 80s or even before, with herbs or alternative treatments...

why are coinfections so OLD story (not new, like some people think...)

why only recently, Borrelia and coinfections suddenly became like a major health problem?

This is a conference from 2006! But it is still actual!!

By what he explains, his mother was suffering from neuro lyme since the 60s!!!! (if I count back the years...)

Severe neuro lyme already in 1960!

There are not many answers to these problems / questions, but the way he explains lyme is interesting.

I don't think much changed, only that neuro lyme can be caught very fast after a tick bite (it's not taking 2 years, as he describes back in 2006...)

Yep, Michael!

I just read it again, and it is still not 'old' in content!!

I don't think many people know that what we call lyme, chronic lyme, coinfections, started MUCH before in the Black Forest Region (not in the 70s in the States!)

And that MDs were treating lyme here MUCH before it was even discovered in Connecticut!

Many decades of lyme, chronic lyme, chronic arthritis linked to tick bites, then other crazy manifestations that we today know as 'coinfections' were already present for so long here in German / Switzerland.

In 2006, while you guys in the States were thinking if coinfections even exist..., here I got tested for all common coinfections dr K usually tested, ...

...and surprise: I had ALL coinfections, except for TBE (that my daughter got, by the way).

I do think it's amazing that he was speaking about candida, parasites, co-infections, heavy metals, teeth problems blocking lyme so long ago.

In that sense, it's not an old text! I quite enjoyed reading it! Thank your for posting that so long ago, Michael!!

You say that "In 2006, while you guys in the States were thinking if coinfections even exist..." (end quote)

Here "in the States" we are not so new to all this, really.

We knew long before that about coinfections and their major importance and differences in treatment, etc.

In 1997 with my Igenex testing, I had positives for at least 3: Lyme; Babesia; Human Monocytic Ehrlichia. Igenex even then tested for others, too.

Burrascano had his guidelines out at least by then and I went by that for testing with IGenex. There was a lyme support group who helped guide me, and this was before Google even existed.

Too bad the MD I took my results to, with Dr. B's guidelines, just literally & dramatically, tossed the guidelines in the trash can,

handed me back the tests and said "that's not in our state" and that seizures, fainting, vertigo and severe fatigue & so much more - though never really acknowledged - were "all just due to my attitude."

The first of many MDs to take that stance, of course. Another key phrase many would use "We've never seen anything like this. It can't be real." Sigh.

Now, 20 years later, still, the same official stance for all MDs in my state. Only in a rare case, quietly, might there be one or two who know more but can't let it be known.

Thank goodness for ILADS who were around long before the internet, actually. And a big cheer to the internet for making information and education so accessible. 1998 was a key year in that regard. Google started in 1998.

In the few years prior to that, there was a way to search the web for medical articles, etc. as I often went to hospital patient education / libraries to do that. I did find out more about the Western Blot test that way, I recall. That was summer 1997.

Now 2017, here are some new insights from Dr K (thanks to Scott from better health guy. com):

I just took some main points and did a separation by topics, to make it clearer:

-----------------------
BABESIA:

Babesia is a protozoa and leads to lots of issues in the mouth, oral cavity, and cavitations.

Babesia duncani (WA-1) no longer responds to Zithromax or Mepron; those times are over.

Artemisia has 1200 compounds vs. Mepron being 1 compound.

Babesia FISH testing seems to find about 20%.

Babesia lives in the nervous system and lymph nodes.

Babesia can lead to leaky gut, chronic constipation, and GI inflammation.

The main BABS symptoms include headaches, migraines, night sweats, dry cough, and cherry angiomas.

Mepron, Zithromax, IV Artesunate, Artemsinin, and LDI may be explored.

If treating Babesia, testosterone may be like a bait for it; he is not against supplementing testosterone if the Babesia is being actively treated.

Artemesia or Artemisinin is a dream tool; addresses parasites, virus, fungus, and bacteria. It is fantastic for colon cancer.

--------------------------------
RESISTANCE:
When hundreds of bugs of a certain type learn how to resist treatment, all of the microbes worldwide are resistant.

--------------------
BARTONELLA:

Bartonella is the most illness-causing in terms of neurological disease. It is more common than Borrelia.

Borrelia causes very few symptoms; most symptoms are Bartonella and Babesia.

It can be transmitted by fleas on animals or from cats.

70% of cats in Italy and virtually every cat in the US is infected with Bartonella.

He shared the story of soldiers drinking their own diluted urine using homeopathic Korsakov potencies and the resulting 5% Bartonella in the Russian soldiers vs. 95% in Napoleon's soldiers.

(Br's explanation: soldiers used their own urine and diluted them in Korsakov potencies, meaning centesimal dilutions, then drank it!).

Bartonella can lead to skin presentations that come in any shape or form.

Bartonella may be treated with Cipro, Levaquin, Doxycycline, Rifampin, Polygonum, Stephania, Rizol Gamma, ozone injections, or LDI.

Transverse myelitis may be triggered by Bartonella.

Bartonella is a major player in EHS (electromagnetic hypersensitivity syndrome).

For Bartonella, Cocktail with extra propolis may be helpful.

EHRLICHIA / RICKETTSIA

Ehrlichia is a sub-species of Rickettsia. The symptoms are very similar to Borrelia.

Microbes are territorial and getting rid of one may make another emerge as a bigger issue.

For Ehrlichia, ozonated oils and astragalus may be helpful.

---------------
------------------
CAVITATION AND OZONE:

Ozone breaks down toxins, kills microbes, and thins the blood. It is not, however, enough to avoid cavitation surgery

----------------
BORRELIA, HERPES, MOLDS

Lyme is first and suppresses the immune system such that Herpes and molds are then opportunistic.

Autoimmunity is the immune system attacking cells that are full of microbes.

The spleen is a secret home for Borrelia, Bartonella, Babesia, Mycoplasma, and other pathogens.

In osteo-arthritic knees, they find an average of 18 microbes; it is a persistent chronic infection.

-----------------------------
LYME DISEASE:

Borrelia carriers become symptomatic when emotional stress, trauma, mold exposure, EMF exposure, occlusal bite problems,

.... unhealed emotional or ancestral trauma, food allergies, heavy metal toxicity, poor genetics,

.... jawbone cavitations, or poor sleep enter the picture.

Antimicrobial strategies should never be the main dish; they should be the desert.

Antimicrobials should be an afterthought.

Homeopathy is the most elegant application of physics.

Treat leaky gut - avoid allergenic foods.

Goat milk is a much better choice than cow milk which is not intended to be consumed.

D3 target is 80 and even higher in those with dental cavitations. For every 10,000 units of D3, need 100mcg MK7 K2.

Issues with the upper teeth may be from mold and other overgrowths in the sinuses

LYME TREATMENT SUGGESTION:

Step 1 is addressing parasites with NEXUS, Chaga, O3 oils, Gamma, Cocktail, Gubarev, or medical drugs.

NEXUS is a good Lyme treatment on its own.

Chaga is a good immune modulator and helps with Lyme and parasites.

Step 2 is mold treatment with zeolites (instead of Cholestyramine for mold toxins) and Gamma

Step 3 is the Lyme Cocktail.

Step 4 is the viruses including Herpes family and retroviruses.
This may be done with D3, Bravo, and RERUM.

RERUM may be used for 9 months or longer, and Bravo suppositories are preferred over oral option.

Japanese Knotweed in your garden is considered a pest, but it is the most important herb to treat Lyme. Weeds are the healers in nature.

They treat mold with ZeoBind, O3 Gamma, and Cocktail. May use Itraconazole, Glutathione, Alpha Lipoic Acid.

Doxycycline reduces Borrelia by 90% but doubles cyst forms which creates autoimmunity. It moves from an acute issue to a chronic one.

Alinia or azole drugs may be added for cysts.
He finds Stevia works well here.

Borrelia tolerates temperatures of 600F.

Whole leaf stevia is far better than triple antibiotic therapy.
It has to be brown and made from the whole plant.

There are 2500 or more microbes in the microbiome and they are altered by antibiotics.

Niacin is a potent antimicrobial for spirochetes and often helps with psych symptoms.

If one is methyl folate deficient, they cannot tolerate niacin

Artemesia or Artemisinin is a dream tool; addresses parasites, virus, fungus, and bacteria. It is fantastic for colon cancer.

The whole herb is five times more effective than artemisinin alone.

Smilax, Stephania, Andrographis, Red Root, and Cat's Claw may be helpful.

Andrographis is a dream and is part of the BioPure Cocktail.

At lose dose, the cocktail is immune modulating, at higher dose, it is antimicrobial.

Cistus can be used as a tea to help prevent tick bites. It is a selective biofilm breakers and is antimicrobial against Lyme and co-infections.

Cistus tea may be used at 3-6 cups per day

Metal detox is a key to dissolving pathogenic biofilms.

Olive oil dissolves amyloid and is good for dementia-like symptoms in Lyme patients
Microbes that live in biofilm love fats;

liposomes are a trojan horse that bring the antimicrobial payload to the microbes in the biofilms

To make treatments penetrate where the bugs are in the body, ultrasound or infrared light in areas that are sanctuaries for the bugs and open the barriers to draw in

increased amounts of Chlorella is the most potent natural tool to activate the natural killer cells.

Bee venom therapy is a great tool not well-embraced in the US.

He used it for 30 years and notices some dimming of his energy when off of it for more than a few weeks.

He can easily work long days when he is on bee venom.

DETOX / HEAVY METALS

Use chlorella, Ketotifen, zeolite. MegaSporeBiotic is sensational.

Zeolite is one of the best to remove fluoride; pineal gland is half destroyed by fluoride in water

Zeolite is far superior to Cholestyramine.

Zeolite is an antibacterial agent on its own.

Zeolite shifts the microbiome once toxins are removed so that healthy microbes can do their thing.

Zeolite lowers ammonia.

Zeolite lowers histamine better than any other substance.

Aluminum potentizes Lyme; it is THE growth factor for Lyme. In Lida Mattman's days, the key to culture Borrelia was aluminum.

Chlorella is a top detox agent and increases NK cells.

Cilatro (not if one has amalgams) may help detoxify mercury, lead, and aluminum

Mitochondrial illness has an underlying cause of aluminum toxicity.

EMF and aluminum are the two primary drivers of inflammation.

Aluminum is not used in the body for anything in plant, animal, or insect.

Citric acid, malic acid (in Apple Cider Vinegar), and succinic acids increase the excretion of aluminum.

Lemon in water is a helpful detox tool.

Magnesium malate supports moving of aluminum.

Detoxing Aluminum may consist of: infrared light mobilization, zeolite, chlorella, cilantro,

... Sophia AL Detox Tincture, liposomal melatonin, homeopathic alumina, and MegaHydrate.

Infared light mobilization creates EZ-water. This process can lead to serious Herxheimer reactions and is not to be done without a doctor.

Detox is with foot baths, cilantro (no amalgams), chlorella and zeolite (often both).

For glyphosate, detox the microbiome and a small amount in the pineal gland.

Use oil pulling to clean the blood.

Sauna therapy is used but only staying for the first 5 minutes after sweating begins - longer sauna therapy stirs things up that we don't need.

--------------
EMR/EMF:

cordless phones and smart meters are major issues.

They lead to an inability to detoxify metals and petrochemicals.

EMFs lead to an increased release of mercury from the amalgams in the mouth.

A seven minute phone call on your cell is enough to activate EBV.

Cell phones destroy melatonin production.

EMR/EMF + Borrelia = Lyme disease.

Rosemary can help protect the body from incoming radiation.

Propolis tincture is helpful for EMFs but also increases melatonin in the brain.

The sleep canopy reduces EMF to 1 ten thousandth of the exposure.

Melatonin pushes lead, mercury, and cadmium out of the brain as well as bacterial, parasitic, and viral infections.

Melatonin increases EZ-water in the brain.

You cannot detox without addressing the electro-smog.

Lyme patients can only recover if EMF is mitigated.

WiFi completely destroys the microbiome.

Lowering EMFs increases the microbiome's ability to help the body bounce back.

--------------------
MELATONIN FUNCTION:

When people initially react to melatonin, this is often due to heavy metals.

Some have been able to tolerate it by pairing the melatonin with DMSA.

A top melatonin researcher takes 200mg per day personally. Dr. Klinghardt often takes 20mg per da

Melatonin is the birth control pill for cancers at 30-40mg per night.

A second dose of melatonin mid-day nurtures the microbiome.

Melatonin helps with many of the key issues that are present in Lyme.

------------------
BORNA VIRUS:

Borna Virus is very common;
Lyme patients often develop bi-polar behavior.

It is seen in 1/3 of children with ASD.

Treatment may be chlorella, Bravo, MB12, methylfolate, niacin, RERUM, and Core

Anyone with Borna has KPU and most with KPU have Borna.

High levels of Borna may be present when the manic phase begins

-----------------------
IMMUNE MODULATION:

The greatest immune modulation work is with the psychological work (PK) and cleanup of the ancestry.

When people identify with an illness, they avoid the things that are the most curative to the core.

Higher than physiological replacement dose of melatonin can be very dangerous.

& IMO, the immune modulation is MEDICAL MUSHROOMS - along with, well, everything else especially adrenal support.

I find objection to last lines of previous post, however:

"The greatest immune modulation work is with the psychological work (PK) and cleanup of the ancestry.

When people identify with an illness, they avoid the things that are the most curative to the core." (end quote)

Oh, please. That hits such a nerve. Such a blanket statement does not help. And it's just not true - and it can damage patients when doctors believe this.

You have no idea how many practitioners use this as a scape goat when the patient does not improve

(due to either the complexity of the case, lack of money for treatments, too harsh of a living environment or work schedule for such illness, &/or the practitioner's lack of expertise and inflated ego, etc.). I've been there, done that.

And this doctor is the one that teaches many to assume that position. They've told me so and they buy into it.

Yes, indeed, illness can bring opportunity for introspection, spirituality and self awareness. Yet, that is difference from what some say that "patients bring illness upon themselves"

or "not take responsibility to admit it" through ancestor vibes or even past lives -- which is what this tends to boil down to in practice. This really hit a old wound. I can't believe patients are still being blamed with blanket statements like this.

Most often when an illness is identified (finally), then, the patient at least can have a sense of direction so as to develop a plan of action.

I've never seen a group of people who are ill work harder, in more ways, and stretch out and look in than those with lyme.

Very interesting. But what if you are allergic to stevia, like I am? I also tried andrographis, and it gave me a bad case of acne the entire time I was using it.

I like all the natural treatments, but sometimes it's hard to tell what is helping and what isn't. Also there are just so many choices-but that is probably a good thing.

Hey Keebler, I know it's hard to believe on the psycho side of the problem.

I'm not really willing to convince anyone, I just copy-pasted Scott's notes on dr. K's late conference.

Healing that psycho part does NOT depend on personal will of the rational individual.

Everyone wants to heal, if you ask them.

What may be blocking is almost always in the subconscious level.

that is what Freud said, right? [Big Grin]

Yesterday I saw a documentary of prisoners in the US. Women's prison.

One lady said:

"My mother was arrested on Mother's day years ago, and I lost her there.

I was arrested on Mother's day, 13 years after my mother.

Now I'm doing my best to get out of here, and praying that my own daughter won't be arrested on Mother's Day a couple of years ahead".

She was not doing things (on Mother's day) because she rationally 'wanted' to.

We are not addicted to gluten, sugar, junk foods, bad habits, cell phones, internet because we want to.

Indians use to call those past lives or repetitions of patterns that are not well explained 'karma'.

Only when we get rid of part of karma we understand that it actually existed (in our minds).

What is in the mind, is in reality.

That is the power of dreams!!

And the nightmare of 'bad' karma. [Big Grin]

If you look into death records of your own family, comparing dates of birth and dates of death, you may surprised.

Or dates of marriage, divorce etc.

Of course, this is not hard core science! It's just part of how our minds may play tricks on us.

And these tricks do cross generations.

I take all that not that seriously though.

But a change in the mind-setting is quite important for healing.

It has little to do with 'wanting', but more to do with 'being able to'.

As you, I laughed when the naturopath (who, 'by chance', was the right hand of dr. K in Germany) told me 'your mind is blocking your healing'.

I laughed at her: 'What do you mean?'

She said: ' You don't need to believe me. Just say this sentence, and do this (tapping). Believing this will help or not, is of little importance.'

Well, as I knew my life was standing on a thread, and I had barely energy to go on surviving (daily tasks were already barely possible), I just did EVERYTHING she suggested me to do.

Without believing, of course! [Smile]

The truth was, I got better! Slowly, but something was changing me and my physical health.

Do you know EFT? It looks bull****, but only when you actually feel the changes, you start believing!

But of course, some people are immune to EFT!

Same as hypnotism, not everyone is hypnotisable!

Another thing that shows how the mind state is important is what some surgeons say.

Some say that they know if their patients will likely survive or not, just by their 'attitude' before surgery.

Believe you won't heal = half lost war, no matter what you do.

------------
The mind is extremely powerful. I had always been in contact with Eastern cultures or 'philosophies'.

Meditation can play a role in healing, quite an important role, I feel.

What is meditation?

In my view, meditation means: to take the 'negative' mind /intentions off the front scene, to let emptiness heal.

a bit like fasting! [Smile]

One chronic lyme sufferer called Craig wrote a book called:

Reversing Chronic Lyme Disease: The New Paradigm Beyond Conventional Medicine

On page 151-2 he wrote (I skipped some parts, you can google to find the complete text...) :

-----------------------------------------
"What happens over time is that most lyme patients become mired down in this phase of lyme, like getting lost in a vast forest...

....going from therapy to therapy, but never really improving...

I will tell you what I believe to be the single most important medicine that you must take, and never stop taking as long as you have lyme disease.

It's not something you can receive from your MD.

The name of this medicine is called the Iron Will and can only be found inside you.

Without the absolute determination that you are the conqueror, not a victim you will remain in this chronic phase indefinitely, because it is the most difficult phase to get thru.

There are many terrible diseases in this world. Many we have been told, are incurable.

However, some have laughed in the face of that word, defied it, and won.

If you accept 'incurable' then you will be its victim, of that IT IS CERTAIN.

Those whom I have known that have defeated lyme disease, all have one thing in common:

... they possessed an absolute resolve to get well, and never accepted the condition they were in.

If you do not possess this absolute Iron Will, get it!

Look within you.

See that others have beaten this, but only a few.

And it wasn't necessarily the doctor they were seeing, or the drug they were taking, or the medicine that got them well.

They found it within.

It is this Iron Will that allows all other medicines to work.

I'm not talking about placebo effect here.

I am speaking about the drive necessary to keep using the tools you have at your disposal."

It looks a bit simplistic, but I do think Craig has a point.

I felt almost offended by the naturopath when she said I was blocking my healing with my mind.

Anyway, I hope this does not become a heated debate. It's not to make us, patients, feel guilty.

It's more like one way to point to possible 'blockades'...

As for allergies, well, I think most people with chronic lyme suffer from allergy problems.

Leaky gut is one main cause, it seems.

Gluten is to be avoided.
I would also drop milk products (because of own experience).

Andrographis is a tough herb.
Too potent sometimes.

Many people react badly to it.

I could take it, but only temporarily.

It sent me to hospital once, with total body paralysis.

You gotta swim in the world of herbs and supplements (and food), trying to avoid the ones you react badly.

I would increase binders and treat leaky gut from start.

With regard to the Dr K zeolite references earlier in this thread I thought it worth mentioning that...

In this excellent video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YT4Wz5PvBsM&t=517s

talking about BioPure products, June 2015 I think, he talks about zeolite after about 8m 20s.

He says '.... most zeolites that are in use are toxic and are not recommended ' and talks about a study from a German Professor at the University of Cologne that investigated all the zeolites and only found one that came up to scratch. - and this is the one used in ZeoBind.

According to this study - when zeolite (aluminium silicate) hits the stomach acid a small amount of aluminium can be liberated.

To prevent aluminium from escaping from the zeolite they've added a 'form of horsetail' - which is an aluminium binder, into the BioPure ZeoBind. This also acts as an aluminium binder for any aluminium in the bloodstream.

If you wanted to continue using your own zeolite rather than the ZeoBind product then of course you could consider taking some horsetail before or with your zeolite - but that's just my thought - it may not work at all.

Great to know, thank you!

I just made a LOT of horsetail tincture. I mean, it's still 'cooking'.

I'll start with horsetail alone, as I usually react to mineral rich supplements and only then add zeolites.

I can buy dr. K's product too. It could be a good idea...

Thank you.
