My LLND just changed me off Rifampin to
Plaquenil.

she said to protect my teeth as small amounts of
dicoloration between teeth seem to be there.

Has anyone heard of this?

Been on the Rifampin .
With Clarithryomyacin
for 3 months
First rounds of antibiotics in 3 years of neurolyme + Bart

along with all the other
supplements, herbal tinctures and probiotics
and detoxes and prayer

all my symptoms
are cyclically either improving or absent between herxes

Makes me a bit nervous rocking the boat.

That's interesting. This is happening to my teeth. They look brown in between and I've been trying to figure out why. But I've not been on Rifampin since I noticed it happening. Hmmm...

I also noticed the darkness or staining between my bottom teeth. I must assume it is from all the anitibiotics..
Try making a "paste" out of baking soda and a little water. I brush with the baking soda after I use regular toothpaste. Some of the disoloration is still there, but it's not nearly as noticeable. I've been doing this for about a week now and it has definitely helped.

A lady I have been talking with about magnesium oil told me that if you brush your teeth with it, it will help whiten your teeth.

Maybe you could try that.

Rifampin makes your saliva, urine and tears orange so maybe it is staining your teeth as well.

Have to go to the dentist myself today for cleaning.

I noticed it on my bottom teeth as well, but I've never been on Rifampin. I sometimes use a dental tool to gently scrape between my teeth. It seems to work. Most say that it removes with a professional cleaning. Been too sick to go but I've got one scheduled next month so we'll see what happens.

My doctor said minocycline can do that to the teeth, so he took me off it. I'm on Rifampin now. Don't think he'd put me on that if that were the case.

thanks for all the possibilities and ideas and experiences--

I had been rinsing with H202 to hopefully help that darkening between plus mainly keep mouth
clean with yeast battle. Scrape tongue etc.

Mouth holding so far.
I "thought" the H202 was helping lighten frontal surfaces a bit...too gradual to be sure.

I will try the baking soda.
( since from time to time I use that mixed with hydrogen peroxide for gum tx and have plenty on hand and it is cheap.)

and check out magnesium oil
I keep high doses of oral C in my supplements but am unikely to be on IV C

LLND said no hydrogen peroxide now...
that it might degrade tissue...
but I have been doing that on and off for years so I doubt it...unless this changes everything

meanwhile she wants me to
rinse with Biocidin instead (part of add'l yeast protocol)so I won't mix that with H202

LLND told me to go to dentist about it

As much as I value my teeth and gum health (my 83 yr old mother still has all hers)

the lyme & co tx comes first in $
so I will do what I can until...

but if I "may" be able to fit that in about 3-4 months

So baking soda it is to see how that helps

I had already done heavy metal detox wth a zeolite to escort it out and supposedly am clear

hmmm I may talk myself into prioritizing a dental cleaning just to get a baseline with cleaning. It will still take a while to get in...2 months probably

What?? I am about to go on Rifabutin, which is similar to Rifampin. I don't want that. I already have horrific dental problems, due to TBD's and Sjogren's. It's overwhelming.

If I don't treat though, I won't make it. I don't believe that these 2 meds made it worse before---at least that I'm aware of.

What does your doctor say?
