- If you do a Western Blot, yes, get both IgG and IgM. And, be sure the blood draw, shipping, etc. is done to Igenex specifications. M - W for the blood draw, overnight shipping.
Depending upon your symptoms, if you have the money, a test for babesia might also be wise, and then maybe ehrlichia.
If you have anemia, night sweats, extreme exhaustion and are very overwhelmed, while lyme can cause all that, babesia is also something that makes it all worse. And, if you come back positive in Babesia, that makes a lyme test that might not be so clear, much clearer since lyme is nearly always on board with babesia.
And babesia is nearly always on board with lyme. Both tests can back up each other.

I remember someone saying that it may be good to be on antibiotics a couple of weeks before the test...Yes or No, and thank you for your responses

- But, wait. I don't have all the details and this was years ago but you might want to check on this. I'm so tired and can't do that now. Igenex should know though.
Igenex is the top lab to consider and others don't even test all the bands, etc. however, this is all political. If you've seen the documentary "Under Our Skin" that explains the politics of what you've likely already faced just getting assessed.
Does New York State prohibits Igenex lyme test? -

My MD ordered Igenex IgG, IgM, and IFA. I was only positive on IFA so glad that was ordered.
