I'm about to despair but a friend tells me that this is the place to find information. I welcome PMs and emails or any offline communication.

I got turned down by Jefferson in Philly because they only accept patients with recent positive tests. What?

I know someone with long-term Lyme whose experience was a complete nightmare at Hopkins so I'm afraid to try them.

Thank you!

Welcome to Lyment Christine.
So happy you found us. [Smile]

Please consider changing your profile name. We advise members to not use their real names.

Jefferson University infectious Disease Doctors, along with John Hopkins, follow the IDSA (Infectious Disease Society of America) guidelines for diagnosis and treatment for Lyme Disease. If you do not have a positive Lyme blood test ( which according to the latest research misses up to 70% of Lyme patients!) they will NOT treat you.They will refer you towards Accupuncture and Chinese medicine. The main-stream medical community will abandon you and send you home to suffer/die.

You need a LLMD (Lyme Litterate Medical Doctor). These speciality Tick Borne Infection Doc's have been trained according to ILADS (International Lyme and Associated Diseases of America.)

Lyment can help you find a LLMD in your area. But we can also help you along the way on your healing journey from this DEVESTATING disease. Lyment's tireless volunteers offer their experiences, compassion and answers to most questions of this very complex disease. We have WALKED THE WALK and want to help fellow sufferers and ease the burdens.

You can request a LLMD through Global Lyme Alliance here ;

Watch "Under Our Skin" a documentary about the struggles Lyme patients face while trying to get diagnosised and treated here ;

Start researching everything you can about Lyme disease. In the Seeking Doctor section there are links for those new to Lyme disease. You can also access the 'search' function for all kinds of topics. So much valuable information on one website.

We will help you anyway we can. We are open 24 hours a day, we never close. Good luck to you on your path towards wellness.

I will send you a private message.

Thank you! I read the post about names after I had signed up and I don't see a way to change it.

I think you would have to request a change from the webmaster. I would have to contact her for you.

PM me if you want to get it changed.

Moving to Seeking a Doctor.
