My daughter is going to the US for a student exchange. It seems the school in Pennsylvania wants her to get the tetanus shot.
What should I do NOT to give her the shot?
I know that Pennsylvania allows religious reasons or strong ethical conviction as reasons for having no vaccines.
What should I do, concretely?
I know this is not exactly Medical, but I know it can turn into Medical, if she takes the shot...
She had suffered severe lyme, encephalitis, arthritis for years, she has MULTIPLE food allergies and all sorts of allergies... I don't want to give more shots than she already took as a small child.
Do parents simply write a letter stating their strong convictions?
I live in Europe, and am lost. She's traveling in less than 6 weeks.
Thanks for any info.

- Contact the organizations here. Also see the articles about how to prepare and follow up in the event that a vaccine would be taken.
She should also become educated on what tetanus is, how to avoid and what to look for in the event that she might need emergency care as tetanus can progress in a very short time frame-- and the range that any measures might encompass.
It's not just a matter of either taking it or not but learning what to do either in addition to or instead of, especially if exposed. Tetanus can be in soil, it's not just about rusty nails on farms. Again, the groups below should be able to help with options.
You might inquire as to how to obtain JUST the tetanus vaccine, too, if the requirement holds steady. At least then she might not have to have a combination as it usually comes. Often, it's the combinations that complicate further for those with complicated / possible reactions.
But, I'm thinking it's not so much tetanus they are concerned about and actually want everyone to take the combination shot. They will know more:
Ohio also has the "philosophical objection" to the vaccines. I just sent a note to school saying, "I have a philosophical objection to vaccines" and signed it.
If I were you, I'd write that note and send it with your daughter so she has it if she needs it. I had a note sent home every year that my child would be sent home because the child did not have vaccines. So every year I had to rewrite the objection and send it to school with the child.

Six, thank you too.
Tincup sent me a wonderful link with a model of a letter (specific for Pensylvannia).
I already signed the letter and will send it with her, in her bag.
I hope she won't have problems.
Thank you all. It's very nice to have such a community here!
