Hi, the day before New Years I woke up and had two bites (one in my wrist and another one in my hand, pics attached). They were skin colored at first and then turned red and itched. A little bit after that, they looked like this. That same night the reaction/rash was gone and only the bite remained.
I haven't had any lyme related symptoms until now (almost a month later) that I've started to have muscular pain on my legs when I go to sleep, to the point where it wake me up during the night.
I just want to know if this is lyme or not since it could be a vitamin deficiency because I don't eat meat.
I'm just concerned about the bite. I don't go out of the house nor have pets so I have no idea how I could have gotten in contact with a tick. Thank you in advance.

The muscular pain sounds suspicious to me. We don't always see the bug that bites us, and it doesn't even have to be a tick these days. Any other symptoms?
Also, have you googled for your symptom and vegetarian diet vitamin deficiency symptoms, since you're asking?
Here's what I do for Lyme muscular pain: I take capsules of turmeric powder, which is anti-inflammatory. I take a 00-size capsule in the am and pm and this stops pain for me. It's a cooking spice, so no big deal.
You could try that experiment and see if your muscle pain goes down. If so, that's an indication of inflammation, and that's what Lyme does.

I was vegetarian for 18 years and once I finally started eating eggs and meat again, I was so much better in many ways.
Robin has a good idea about being sure nutrients are considered. Taurine is one major one that helps and it's mostly from meat. B12, too but there are several others for which the density of the meat nutrients might work better for some folks.
Magnesium, too, might be low for various reasons.
Not sure which classification of diet you do, yet:
Sardines (Wild Planet with lemon and EVOO is so good); wild caught Salmon, too. Trader Joe's has some frozen that is pretty good. Great nutrients and easier to digest than some meats (if that's why you shy away from it).
If you eat eggs (good for taurine) and a little real cheese, whole organic milk - and butter to be sure your good fats (clean saturated fats in addition to extra virgin olive oil ) are on board for how they help the nervous system if you are okay with those -- be sure to get pastured eggs if you can and cheese from pastured / grass-grazing cows.
And salt. Just like it's been a lie that animal fats are bad (if from clean sources), so, too, we need a good amount of sea salt each day, spread out. Not table salt, and not salt from any kinds of packaged foods, though, with our real foods.
As you have no pets nor go outside - consider any recent fresh Christmas tree or Holiday greenery that was brought in last month. Once in a while spiders and ticks can hitchhike in greenery.
Try to open a window each morning or spend some time out of doors to let DAY LIGHT into your eyes. Even in winter, this matters to the immune system.
Not direct sunlight but just daylight, no glasses on, nothing between your eyes and the air --- but not during the arctic blast that is coming, of course. Don't want your tears to freeze !
Whatever kinds of spiders you might have there, look up what their bites look like, etc. Some spider bites require medical care (such as from brown recluse / black or brown widow) but even a bite from typical "benign" house spiders might cause your body to work harder.

the other 16 are rash-only For various reasons --imo on both sides, political-- no one brings this up.
It means that fewer cases of Lyme actually disseminate (reasons why activists may not mention) but it also means that of those cases that DO disseminate, much more of early Lyme is actually a treatment failure (reason IDSA types may not mention.)

Why not try magnesium for the muscle pain? Most of us end up taking it. Be sure to get regular blood testing to see if you are low in potassium or anything else.
Hoping to see a pic soon.

- LymeToo's idea is the place to start. Magnesium CITRATE might be a good one - or Magnesium Glycinate or Malate.
Some are better than others, some affect the bowels more strongly, too.

Definitely go to the doctor to have bloodwork drawn and bring in the pictures of the bites

- I would not ask a doctor to test for lyme - unless you have had a chance to study the photos against your own rash, etc.
If you had holiday greenery brought in for decorations last month, that is one consideration, of course for a tick to come inside yet, chances are it's most likely a spider bite since you did not see a tick, do not go out and don't have a pet.
Still, you'll have to do some study and consider some of the variables to determine your next action. Good luck. -

Hi guys. Sorry about the delay! All the replies went to spam, ugh. I actually had my annual check up a few months ago and didn’t ask for a vitamin check so now I’m hating my past self lol, since it was my first meatless checkup.
I have actually started eating bananas in the morning and taking a magnesium pill at night and the situation has improved a bit. I tried posting pics of my bites but the site wouldn’t process them.

Those are both bull's eye-shaped rashes - the classic Lyme Disease rash. Bring those pictures with you to the doctor, and they will start you on antibiotics.
I recommed also posting in the 'Seeking A Doctor' forum on this site so that people can recommend good Lyme-treating doctors who are in your area.
