I started manifesting hyper intensities in my white matter in 2010 with my first spot. I lost pituitary function in 2010. I have low blood pressure and reasonable lipid profiles, but increasing hyperintensities. I also had a basal ganglia infarct in 2012. Anyone else dealing with svd and increasing hyperintensities? Not currently treating, Lyme occasional ubiquinone and Glutithione.

I think it's a term used to describe white or bright spots on various forms of body imaging scans. eg cat scans, probably PET scans etc
in this context, i imagine it will be some form of brain scan.
Lyme and various co-infections cause damage to blood vessels in many places in the body.
small vessel disease is in particular associated with Bartonella infections - or Bartonella and Lyme.
if it were me i would be treating lyme and potentially bart

I have a couple of lesions (hyperintensities in white matter) that were discovered on an MRI that was ordered following sudden hearing loss before I knew I had Lyme disease 10 years ago.
I have had several MRI's since then and they seem to have not changed very much. The radiologists believe that my lesions are venous malformations (I was born with them) as opposed to being caused by lyme disease.
