a lot of things can cause that - as the gut and its mucosa are around 70% of the immune system

it's also how our immune systems are reprogrammed to adjust to our changing environment.

so if you upset one you get the other

I have not seen a forum on this particular combination - but most functional health experts spend a good deal of time talking about and testing the gut - as a route out of chronic illness.
people like Chris Kresser come to mind so you could start there - he has become quite commercial - but there is lots of free information on his site that I think is basically sound.

on the other hand, Bartonella causes both of these things ( i have this also ) and so you could already be in the right place

I am interested in learning about this connection. Hernia, GERD, indigestion, and acid with regurg. I also have trouble digesting red meat. My son told me that he read an article that claimed there was a tick disease that caused this.

spookdew, can you give us more information on what article your son might have been reading and/or what the tick disease was.

I'm also having a lot of gut issues.

lymenotlite - I found these links about meat allergies & tick bites in previous posts here on Lymenet. Don't know if they were what you were looking for.

https://www.npr.org/sections/thesalt/2018/06/25/621080751/red-meat-allergies-caused-by-tick-bites-are-on-the-rise

Poster "Keebler" posted many links about the subject on this thread:

You could also google "Meat Allergies and Tick Bites"" for more information.

Lymenotlite, my son read that article a few years ago when I first started having digestive problems with red meat so I don't remember and I'm sure he wouldn't but I do remember it was the Lone Star tick.

Thanks for the information, spooky and hoping. Meat allergies - what next?

Right now I'm thinking I have some kind of parasitic issue. When my gut is bothering me and I then ingest a green black walnut hull capsule, or take a couple of drops of Biocidin, it really helps relieve the gut pain. The caps and drops ar for parasites.

Post about immunity and digestion and I was wondering if that would have anything to do with someone else's post about MCAS?

Parasites can seriously impede digestion, and so immunity, and I think that is what I've been dealing with.

I have not been in the Lone Star tick area but who knows? I do not rule anything out. The gut parasite thing only coalesced recently so that is the trail I'm following for now.

Will keep meat allergies in mind for future experimentation. I do appreciate the information.
