Hi Kristyn My LLMD had me on this along with minocycline, pulsing two days on and one day off. He also included a probiotic and Serrapeptase to eliminate the biofilm.
Unfortunately, my reaction were intense and flu-like with chills, fever, high temp, body aches, air hunger, and coughing.
He has since switched me to Bactrim and A-Bart. Sadly, this has had no effect on me.
I hope your experience with Rifampin is more tolerable because it could be key to kicking this illness.

I was finally diagnosised with Lyme and Bartonella after a downward spiral in my health over a 3 year period. I was very sick. I treated Lyme for the first 4 months then added in the Bart meds (Rifampin and Mino).
I had my 1st LLMD visit in November. I had every intention on being able to return to work on New Year's Eve, the biggest night in my line of work. I had NO clue about the enormity or the immensity of the amount of fighting required to beat the BEAST.
Let time be your friend. There is no silver bullet. Many pieces of the puzzle. Give yourself atleast 1 year to get better. I returned to work part-time after 8 months. I felt 80% better. There will be many ups and downs, many 1 step forwards and 2 steps back. You will want to quit but your inner strength will not let you. You are stronger than you think.
With Rifampin, your urine can turn orange or your tears may sting. These are side-effects. Be sure to read the pamphlets that come with all your meds. If you should experience high fevers or severe psychiatric symptoms, stop immediately. There are other Bart meds (gentamycin).
Drink lemon water all day, Epsom salt baths, NAC or Glutethoine, alka selzer gold, detox the toxins out of your body, keep the lymph system moving. Try to stay calm and ride it out. You are not alone. If you need anything, just ask. 💚

If you should run into any severe symptoms, call your LLMD.
If you decide to go to the E.R., print out this to take with you. Many of us have had really bad experiences when we have gone to the ER departments. E.R.doctors are not trained in TBInfections and are clueless.
