Has anyone ever had multiple bouts of Bacterial Vaginosis while sick and in treatment? I believe I am fighting one now.

Obviously having a dampened immune system isn't going to help. I take pro biotics, yogurt and nystatin anyway for the yeast.

Im wondering if there are other preventative measures or more natural ways to get rid of it versus going on more abx since I'm on them already for Bart and Lyme.

Thanks 💚

Hi Kristyn,

I have been doing some research in this area lately due to have a UTI that isn’t responding to treatment or it could be bladder inflammation which to my knowledge is somewhat common in late stage Lyme. I thought it was a yeast infection at first (since I have never had one before) and purchased some boric acid vaginal suppositories which have been shown to help with difficult to treat yeast infections and bacterial vaginosis.

I have also been looking into Yoni vaginal steam treatments for relief. Below is a list of herbs that might help for anyone interesting in trying one, they have been used for centuries by women for menstral and menopause relief. There are many blends that can be found by doing a quick Duckduckgo search, if you are interesting in putting together your own blend, below are some of the herbs and their noted healing effects:

Rosemary- Improves circulation
Motherwort- Reduces fatigue
Chamomile- Soothing effect
Calendula- Decreases inflammation
Raspberry Leaves- Tones pelvic muscles
Oregano- Improves circulation
Marshmallow- Preserves moisture
Sage- Astringent properties
Wormwood- Reduces bacteria growth
Lavender- Antiseptic
Yarrow- Controls bacterial growth
Comfrey- Soothing effect

I am not a medical professional and want to caution that herbs used for Yoni steaming may be dangerous when used during and after miscarriage or pregnancy. Make sure you do research into the effects of each of the herbs if you think you may be pregnant or contact your local naturopath for advice.
