The Tick-Borne Illness Center of Excellence has come to the rescue. To receive specialty care for tickborne illnesses has required significant travel. Now we have a center specializing in tick-borne illnesses right in the heart of the Midwest. Located in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin, the Center opened its doors to chronically ill patients on the waiting list last September and is now ready to accept new patients. Under the purview of world-renowned Dr. Samuel Shor, a 30+ year Provider of care to tickborne illness patients and past President of ILADS, the Center has four primary objectives.

Hi, This is Mike from the WI. Lyme Yahoo group. I haven't posted here in years but wanted to post about the new lyme clinic in Woodruff, WI. First of all, I still see some familiar names here so long time no see.
WI. has made many strides over the years in fighting tick-borne illness and the lyme clinic is the culmination of that.
The Waite family and others were instrumental in getting this off the ground. The lyme clinic is located at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff, WI. It's attached to a 90 bed hospital.
Past ILADS president Dr. Shor teleconferences in with all patients as our NP is on site to administer his treatment orders. Right now, the office has several hundred patients but is expanding it's patient load and will bring in new ILADS trained providers as patient load warrants.
This is an exciting venture, one that could be a huge boon to the lyme community as this may be the only lyme clinic I know of attached to a hospital.

My son Jesse became very ill in 2004, wheelchair bound, missed 2 1/2 years of high school. Today, to look at him you would never know he was sick a day in his life. There's hope for all ! -Mike

It was definitely a long road to get back for him but he's graduated college now and is on with his life. It's funny, he remembers so little of it but I remember all of it. He walks across the grass and I panic. He thinks I'm nuts. Lol
Regarding the lyme clinic in WI. People have asked the cost, etc.
I believe the first visit is $400-$450 , something like that. However, it's very thorough. Subsequent visits are in the $250 range.I'm guessing they accommodate out of state patients as they have many of them.
This is NOT an Envita type clinic. Dr. Shor directs ALL treatment and as past ILADS president he utilizes ILADS guidelines for the most part.
Dr. Andy Kogelnik from the Open Medicine Institute set the clinic up and is documenting all the research on patient progression.
The Waite family was instrumental in setting this up as they lost their daughter to lyme/babesia. Meeting with the Board up there all members stressed this had to be ILADS based treatment and reasonably priced to be successful.
The hope is this will be the only ILADS based clinic in the country with hospital admitting privileges.
They're working on a foundation to help indigent patients as well.

They do not take insurance at this time but that is definitely being discussed. They're also working on a foundation for indigent patients.
If I recall the first visit is about $400-$450, around there, but it's very thorough with Dr. Shor. Subsequent visits were about $250 I think.
Thank you for the kind regards on my son. His big issue was babesia, once that was addressed, everything else fell in line.

My son was treated years ago by Dr. Hoffmann in WI. He's since passed. Ol Doc treated thousands of lymies form all over the country. Saved my son's life. He's greatly missed.

This is great news. I am looking forward to the day when insurance will cover good lyme treatment, and when lyme clinics feel safe in accepting insurance as well as medicare and medicaid. But, this is a wonderful beginning.
