Hi,

Recently diagnosed with Lyme. The bite site became re-inflammed (and itchy as h#ll) twice.

Once at the 3 week mark, for which I was treated with 100mg Doxy 2x day (14 days)...this was after the 1 day prophalatic dose which I took the day after I found/removed the tick.

The raised lump (and the itchiness) reappeared again last week (approx 8 week mark). I suspect I now have locally disseminated disease (since I've had 2 flares approx 4 weeks apart) and need to go back on antibiotics.

Is it typical to also get the site/granuloma either biopsied or completely excised?

In the process now of finding a really good Lyme doc, but would like to stay 'ahead of the game'.

Thanks.

I also had a tick bite that kept reappearing.

This bite was 5 yrs after my initial bites/illness. Same pattern as yours. Tick bite slow to heal.

4 weeks later it flared into irritated bite area again. Healed and reappeared on 4 week cycle for 6 months before it finally stopped that cycle.

I was off the long abx cycle by this time and didn't go back to abx. I've read of others that had this weird cycle.

At that time in my life I was seeing a voodoo chiropractor and I finally told him about it. He did his voodoo and it stopped. I don't remember, it was 16 yrs ago???

I do know that anytime I get a bite by any blood sucker, I turn to Tea Tree essential oil. Dab it several times a day for at least a week.

IMO, your body has this walled off at the surface. It's reacting, which is good. Oral abx might be beneficial or maybe not.

One never knows what all was in that tick gut. It's never just Lyme.

Removing that area will not improve your outcome, as far as I know. I've been here more than 20 years and don't remember anyone doing that.

(and a biopsy won't tell you anything more than you already know)

Stay on the abx or find an herbal protocol that works for you.

Also consider Rife.

Welcome!!
