MCAS can make one feel HORRIBLE....so maybe you just need to attack THAT and all else will fall into place?

I was diagnosed with MCAS this year and then anaplasmosis which I had not expected! I did herbal treatment for the anaplasmosis and my MCAS did improve a bit.
Also try the H1/H2 antihistamines asap- they were a life saver for me. Then I added cromolyn sodium and it has greatly helped.
Also underlyning past traumas greatly affect MCAS, so maybe think about that too. best of luck- these things are a life sucker for sure, but we must carry on!

I've been taking H1/H2s and quercetin for almost 2 months now for MCAS. NO CHANGE. More miserable and anxious that I have seen zero improvement.
Did a mycotoxin urine test around the same time, just positive for Orc A, even then it wasn't a super high level, all other mold species I was negative. Now I'm having worry because those tests aren't 100% esp if you have a detox problem you could have false negatives.
Yea this fear, frustration never ends. Nice huh? I'm in mental and physical agony daily. The only time I'm not anxious is when I'm working.
Researching benzo withdrawal as the culprit now since I was polydrugged with psych drugs for years ( not just benzos) and thinking none of this is Lyme related anymore. Who knows.
Maybe the benzo WD is causing the MCAS issues from all the inflammation in my body.
It's a week before Christmas. It's snowing where I am, trying to get in a holiday mood with everyone and I'm plauged by anxiety.i feel so miserable.

My anxiety has zero to do with low magnesium. It's very much situational that won't just go away in a few short months. Supplements won't cure me. It's very much more complex and sometimes not worth mentioning anymore.

When I first went to a genetic counselor the first thing he said to me when I sat in the chair by his desk was, "I bet you had a really hard time in school.... You have very high genetic anxiety". he was totally right!
Have you seen a genetic dr. or counselor for this? It took a while, but my anxiety is now under almost total control. That help from him along with my first round of antibiotics for lyme and cos. really helped me and took my anxiety level down about 80% the first few months.
I was previously liveing in hell. like couldn't go to mail box to get mail for fear of an ambulance or cop pulling up to my house telling me all my loved ones died, and feeling like the world had ground war with tanks and soldiers coming down my street.... that is how I lived every second for quite some time and that barely explains how it really felt.
that genetic counselor was right - I had almost failed in school despite having high intelligence, and I never thought I was good at anything and al lI heard from everyone is , "relax!, calm down! think good thoughts! do yoga!...." hahahaaa
no laughing matter though.
I really feel for anyone saying they have anxiety. I have tried magnesium to the point of almost bathing in it. nothing changed. not saying magnesium isn't needed for us with lyme, because it is, but for some people mag isn't helpful in a way we can feel a difference.
RX meds only helped for short stints until I reacted to all of them.
I worked on methylation pathways with the genetic person. I worked on so many areas that needed help. It's been years since I started and now I am off all the supplements for genetics right now except for one called SOD. It was a long long road but I guess it was worth it.
getting off of certain foods was key also. those with excitotoxins should be avoided at all costs until your body calms down.
If you can help your anxiety it does help with so many other things becasue your body has a chance to work /heal better.
God bless
