does anybody with lyme have to force themselves to stay hydrated daily despite their body not constantly reminded them throughout the day because im not even hungry and my fatigue increases where im about to pass out plus im exercising and taking runs around the block but nothing seems to help, is this common with lyme, bartonella, babesia when the immune system is suppressed that normal operations go absent? this just scares me

I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe make yourself eat and drink, even though you're not hungry or thirsty. Sometimes when we are severely dehydrated, we eventually stop feeling thirsty. The same goes for starvation. Since you're concerned about this, you should definitely bring it up with your doctor. Feel better

thanks for the kind comment, i think sometimes when im completely detached and my derealization goes into maximimum then it doesnt recognize my bodys needs to replenish its vital resources along with the bad fatigue, still trying to confirm if this is lyme since my symptoms match them infections, it just gets very tiring when symptoms
are always changing and bringing new surprises and that makes you stay vigellete during all of these struggles, you can never win

Yes, I've heard that we don't have normal thirst regulation, so yes, we are supposed to drink sufficient liguids throughout the day, like at least 8 glasses of water. I have just Lyme and I feel this.

Also, re detachment and derealization, have you had your thyroid levels checked? Mine were low, so I went on Armour thyroid and felt present again. My doc said it was like my body had been in hibernation, metabolically speaking. Now I have enough thyroid and I feel "here" again.

Re winning or not winning, we're all different in what we've got and how we respond to treatments, so all we can do is try stuff and hopefully also have a smart doctor to help us through it. It is possible to experience bingos along the way.

kevin, first thing out of of bed, start your day with at least 16 oz of room temp water. The body doesn't utilize cold water as well.

I was amazed how it actually gave me morning energy. Good habits make a difference.

I have heard that those who don't drink enough water won't feel thirsty. At times, I have to force myself to drink any water.

If my mouth is dry, I know I'm dehydrated and try to drink enough. Once I get used to being hydrated, it seems I'm more sensitive to getting thirsty.

My LLMD told me that the body wants incoming water to be compatible with the fluids already there, so will extract from the body what's needed.

iI someone drinks a lot of water, it could actually deplete us of something.

So, I always add lemon juice, healthy flavoring or eat a little something.

I'm not surprised if this situation is because of Lyme Disease. I blame everything on Lyme disease.

yes, this is common - we don't have normal regulation. We should be drinking water everyday.

I am sorry to hear about your condition. I know how it feels. My brother has the same issues and it was a very difficult time for us. He has been on different medications such as antibiotics (with many other side effects) to deal with it but nothing helped unless he found out natural remedies. There are some great remedies enriched with therapeutic herbs and spices to treat the symptoms. He tried Panchakarma Therapy and that has helped him.
