I'm really at my wits end here. Sometimes I get stabbing pain in my teeth and I can't stand it. I do have recession in the front teeth. But my bio dentist who knows about lyme doesn't think it's a tooth problem. That it's neuralgia. I have nerve pain in feet and hands. He said he won't pull any teeth. But I can't live with this. I'm thinking pretty dire things, like finding a permanent way out. Does anyone have any advice? I've tried biocidin toothpaste, sensodyne, oil pulling with oregano, clove oil, eugenol, sf 5000 plus rx toothpaste, hypericum, belladonna, relief tone, ice pack, heating pad, advil.
I've seen recommended iodine drops and toms rapid relief sensitive toothpaste.

I would listen to your dentist. Lyme is known to cause trig. Are you on a treatment plan for Lyme and company?
I have had a few bouts with this unrelenting pain. It usually appears during high wide-spread Inflamation. I was talking CytoQuel Healthy Cytokines Support by Researched Nutritionals along with Magnesium. Did nothing. Sometimes I would take a warm/hot washcloth and place over face a few times. Or I would take a crushed up aspirin and put in warm water then swish around in mouth for 1 or 2 minutes. These seemed to offer rapid relief but not long lasting.
It finally went away on month 4 of antibiotic treatment. Hoping you find relief soon. Pain is the WORST !

Wow not heard of that. Tho after looking it up, I dunno if that's what this is. Its not necessarily brought on by anything. It just happens.
I'm kinda. But it's sort of on hold as I'm trying to handle this mold issue. My lyme doc said I had to do that b4 lyme treatment would work.
So it's not just lyme getting into the root canals then? I have to worry about this too?

When in doubt, use the 'search' function on Lymenet. Lymenet has the BEST information on all things Lyme !
Just type in Trigeminal Neuralgia in the search bar. There are ALOT of posts about TN.

Do you clench? A mouth guard and progressive relaxation helped this issue in me.

Did you also say you have a mold issue? I have your same problem with the teeth. I resolved it temporarily with a mouth guard and a regular schedule of progressive relaxation. However, sensitivity reactions has brought the pain back. So addressing mold or sensitivities is also essential.

You could try seeing a good cranial therapist to find out whether it's a cranial issue.
It happened to me - severe dental pain, and it was coming from nerves that were being pinched by my head bones - 23 of those and they can be out of place. Twice I've had major dental pain relieved by expert cranial people.
I lay down on my back while they placed their hands initially under my head, checking on the bones and CSF pulsing, they said. Followed by more face and mouth work.

Did you have an accident or injury that preceded your symptoms?

I have similar issues... Some things which helped me I think significantly were the mouth guard with a SOFT inside and hard outside and I began a schedule of relaxation (started with a couple hours in am in a detox bath and finished day with deep relaxation before bed - the body scan and progressive relaxation. You could focus on the head, jaw and neck. Maybe try reducing emfs before bed as well.
I had also been working on healing the gut and adrenals.
However, with re-exposure to mold it all returned much worse...

My guard is hard. I've not heard of a combination guard. Was it custom? I have bad anxiety from my other nerve pain so relaxing is pretty much impossible. I'm treating sibo with candibactin br.. I think may be giving me looser stools.

Did you ever have metal amalgam fillings? I have had a lot of tooth / jaw pain and couldn't figure out the cause. I had my metal fillings removed 10 years ago and had thought that was enough.
I recently started taking mercury chelators and get huge increases the jaw / tooth inflammation. I think the mercury gets out of the fillings and stays in the tissue in the area and causes lots of problems. I'm slowly getting it out now through chelation.

I think it would be better to visit a dentist who specializes in different fields. I mean, someone who knows orthodontics, oral surgery, oral pathology, etc. Because there are often problems or anomalies that the doctor may not even know about. It's very complicated to deal with things you haven't even seen. Look for some clinics in your area,

6Hyp, I hope this helps explain some of what you are dealing with when it comes to teeth & Lyme.
I'm at war with this. I'm in a great place from the neck down. My jaws and teeth have been the great battle . I have this article saved in my favorites.

I had pain like that started in my front teeth/under nose. stumped dentists for years, then got much worse when a tooth got old and infected.
then it was diagnosed as trigeminal neuralgia . then I knew what that was that started all those years prior!
it's been a long road for me with it, but it seems under control now. it flairs up mostly in temperature changes- and fast wind /air gusts.
I got RX pot for the pain since I couldn't take anything else that would help. I am sorry about your pains, and I hope you find relief.

Treat the infections before pulling your teeth. For me was bartonella and protomyxzoa rheumatica.i lost removed all my root canal but later came out was bartonella mostly.
treat the infections first agresivily.i wish I was treated before removing them.now after years of treatment with and and herbs I don't have the pain but I lost my teeth.
i still had 3 root canals done.but bartonella is under controll.use knotweed did sida Acuta cryptolepsis hh capsules and abx....I don't trust the last one .
the herbs works better.i relapsed after the car accident and bartonella exploded again while my immune shut down. Herbs works better but they are exspensive.

Sorry you are dealing with this, I know it is excruciating.
This was one of my first and worse symptoms. I agree with your dentist. Mine was nerve pain. It flared up occasionally. Using sensitive-teeth toothpaste helped me some.
I also agree with others who advised to treat the infections. Hang in there, it will get better.
