Anyone know of a good Lyme Literate Medical Doctor in Phila Western suburbs? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Is there some sort of association that these docs belong to that might distinguish them from the average doctor?
Thanks!

Kenny- SE PA may well be the current hot spot for TBD (tick borne disease).
Luckily for you there is a great Lyme support group at www.lymepa.org
There are several LLMDs in the area.
The LLMD near Colmar is known for price gouging so be aware of this.

Thanks for the info Janet. FYI, that link (www.lymepa.org) does not work. I keep getting the error message "The connection was refused" and all I am trying to do is browse to the site. Anyway, any additional ideas, information anyone could supply would be MUCH appreciated. I need to find a competent LLMD in Southeastern PA asap. Thanks, Kenny

Thanks. I have a question. Why is it that everyone s so secretive about these doctors? Noone will just list a name or give you a reference. It's alwasy Dr. S or Dr T in sometown somewhere. Can someone please explain this to me? I am having a hard time understanding why so many people sharing this horid infection will not (apparently) willingly share any/all names of people and places that offer proper treatments. Even though I know these docs are hard to find, I am sure there are many of them. I really expected to have a few posts with ideas by now, at least in my region. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Just trying to understand, and wanting to begin treatment.

We do not list dr's names as per the rules of this board. WHY? Because insurance companies will come after them, as well as medical boards who want to eliminate them.
We patients would like to continue receiving proper care, but wouldn't be able to if all of our drs were unable to keep their licenses.
Many Lymenetters don't come over here to Seeking a Doctor....so that's the reason for the lack of responses. I have a list of names of drs for each state, but I don't know which towns are in Western, Southern, Eastern PA, OR any other state, for that matter.
Contact me or reply here if you are near Hermitage, West Chester, or Glen Mills, PA. Those are the best ones I have listed.

Thanks Lymetoo. I sent you a PM. Also, I am near West Chester, PA. Funny, I went to my regular doc yesterday and had an extensive discussion with her about Lyme (alot like the ines I had one year and 3/4 years ago). She explained to me that she believes that the current tests (Western Blot and the other std Lyme test) are the current "Gold Standard" and that "two weeks of antibiotices will actually kill all of the bacteria because they are very susceptable to antibiotics" and that they overtreat to four weeks to be sure. I suppose I do not need to explain that I STRONGLY disagree with her. She did order blood work again and if I show for recent or active infection she'll treat for 4 weeks. Needless to say, I am looking onward. She is a good GP, but she's just wearing blinders when it comes to lyme like most of the Physician world. Funny, she would not outright discount all of the other evidence, but like so many, until it's widely accepted she stays the course. SO, please send me anything you have on Dr.s in the SE PA/NJ/DE region. Especially Chester County. I would really apprecaite it. Best regards...
