Drew,

good luck finding a Dr. in So Calif! Actually I know of a couple. One, I forget her name, is a Chinese Dr. in the San Diego area. Her practice was closed when I was looking for a Dr., but I've heard that she's reopened her practice to new pts. I don't know her name, but Earis at the So Calif Lyme support group could tell you. Earis' email is: [email protected].

Dr. Stephen Harris (his father was founder of Igenex Labs), used to have an office in Long Beach once a month, but I understand from one of his pts, that he's closing that office and will just see pts once a month in Malibu. His primary practice is in northern Calif, and that's where you'll have to go for your first appt.

I just learned of another Dr., Dr. Wendy Clough, in Newhall. She's treating another pt on the board.

I'm going to San francisco and being treated by Virginia Savely, the nurse practitioner for Dr. Raphael Stricker. His practice was also closed when I was looking for a Dr., so I went to see Ginger. Dr. Stricker has another associate, Dr. Christine Green, who I know treats other people on the board.

Other than than, I know of another Dr. in Pasadena who has a couple of Lyme pts, daughters of a friend of mine, but he's not really an LLMD.

If you want his name, let me know.

Patti

By the way, can you tell me if you were bit in So California, or somewhere else?

Hi Patti,

Thanks for the response. I will let this percolate some and see if anyone else has ideas, then start tracking down your leads. I just moved to California about three years ago. I was infected in 1998 in Pennsylvania, treated twice and it appears not successfully.

It is advised not to post full names on the boards and only do it in PMs.

I fly to CA and see Dr. H in Nevada City. He is closing the Long Beach office and is Malibu generally once a month but those appointments fill quickly and I think are for follow up only.

He is great and they work with you on timing. I flew up from John Wayne to Sacramento and they were right on about the timing for me to make my flight back down after the appointment. The first appointment was nearly 3 hours.
