I have been on the Internet this morning, checking into the situation at VCU/MCV. I e-mailed 2 doctors, and quickly received the following from Dr. E:

None of the infectious diseases doctors here see patients with Lyme Disease.

Professor of Internal Medicine, Epidemiology and Community Health

Interim Chair, Division of Infectious Diseases

Associate Chair for Education, Department of Internal Medicine

Hospital Epidemiologist and Medical Director of Performance Improvement

Dear Dr. E,

I would like to know if you see patients who have been diagnosed with Lyme Disease. I am currently seeing an infectious disease specialist close to home, however, if I do not improve, I would like to see someone at VCU/MCV.

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

POSTERS: Can you believe that? My general practitioner had called MCV last year, and told me that Dr. E would not see me because Lyme Disease is too broad spectrum of a disease. I found it unbelievable- so thought I would take another "stab" at it. Guess I am lucky to be seeing an infectious disease doctor so close to home, and hope and pray that she can help me. Just shows you the frustration involved in getting help.

Wow! Unbelievable!

up for Tincup, Ellen Lube, and other knowledgeable activists!

I can't believe that is true! They need to be turned in.

This is the case more often than not. However, its probably better than if they did treat, but didn't know what they are doing.

Obviously their preference is to bow out of the controversy.

This is very interesting because one of the "expert witnesses" on the virginia Medical Board Panel at Dr. Z's hearing last year was from MCV!!!

They must supply the members of the VA Medical Review Board which ultimately denied my claim for disability retirement from teaching based solely on their report from a psychiatrist! The fact that I have SSDI didn't seem to matter. In their shriveled minds I can still teach school. I'd love to teach their kids and see how they liked it!! [Big Grin]
