Thanks to all who responded to my earlier question about LLMDs in KS/MO on July 28, I have sent back PMs. I really would like some feedback from anyone who has had direct experience w/ Dr R or her assoc in KC as I am going to receive a call during the day as to when I can get in. My understanding is that this dr treats with abx and phytochemicals(supplements & herbs)combined to really knock the spirochete out because the dr believes it takes both. AFter reading "Healing Lyme", I belive it will take both abx and phytochemicals and that there needs to be testing done while on treatment and that is probably why this dr is so expensive, besides the many hours evaluating you.

Karla, Earlier today I read a newspaper article online about this KC clinic & MD! I don't know if it was in medical or general or who posted it.
I did ask the poster if they would come to seeking drs. & find your post, and show the web link of article here.
So go to both sections to check. You may have to go to SCREEN 2 at the bottom of the 1st screen. When are BUMPED off screen, they go to 2, etc. as NEW/reply posts are put up to the top. good luck finding this; was very interesting!

bettyg - thanks for the info...I have been looking for the post but have not come up with it. I can't find a search feature here on LymeNet. Maybe I should try a google search.
Lymetoo - yes, mainly the liver tests is what I believe are so important and then the Buchner book lists many things to be looking for.... like the quinilon (sp) levels in the brain for the neuroborreliosis. by the way does Dr C want patients to detox before starting on first abx regimen?

I'm glad you found that second link, Bea...I knew I had read less than stellar info on this question.

You'll never believe this, but I got a private email from these folks today telling about their clinic, and booking an online appt. to go their.
NONREFUNDABLE unless you found a different date to come.
I believe I visited their site when someone posted it here. As usual, I found it HARD to read, and sent them feedback on that!
I should have kept quiet for once! ha

I have been spending the last 2 hrs reading from the links.
According to a lady at the LA of Greater KC, Dr R was able to help her get even better after seeing Dr. B and Dr. C. She said Dr. R was very knowledgeable and did not resent her bringing in articles for her to read - she had read all but one (or two?) but was glad to get the one (or two?) she hadn't read.
This lady also said that you don't have to have all the tests done that the dr likes, the dr will work around it (of course she had had tests done at Dr B's so didn't need the many initial tests) and you have the final say as to what tests you will do and the treatment.
The staff seems very nice and the lady at the LA of Greater KC says they work till 8 at night and on Saturdays also. My appt is for 8am on the 24th, but I'm to be there at 7:45am.
They never mentioned the the appt is nonrefundable if you cancel. I don't think they can do this.
I think I have seen other professionals on the internet that say their appts are non-refundable if you booked over the internet. Someone explained to me that you have to do business over the internet differently than in person/business setting as there is no accountability/relationship with people who are basically unknown to you over the internet.
I does kind of bother me that they will not answer any questions of a medical nature over the phone or email, even when you are a patient already. They will only talk to you in person about medical stuff. I'm thinking this is because of all the problems these drs are facing with the medical boards.
I think I will PM Vision of Truth to see how things are going with him and ask him some questions.
Thanks again!

KMP(Karla), I read that you saw Dr C in Springfield? I called his office to get his opinion on the Bowen test of which mine is 1:128 and apparently he doesn't have a lot of faith in this test. Did you know about your Lyme before or after the visit with him?
I live in St Louis County and having a hard time finding a doc who believes in this test and that my symptoms are Lyme related.
I'm on my second Elisa and Western Blot, first got sent to Quest(yuck)and my second one is being looked at at Mayo Clinic.
I also was told by Dr C's office that it's like $750 for his consult plus the Western Blot that he sends to IGenex. Yikes!
I hate to keep going to docs who don't believe in Bowens test results and blows me off. The last guy agreed I had symptoms but they weren't Lyme related in his opinion.
My doctor(chiropractor) bro in law is the one who ordered it and believes in it and muscle tested me and Samento came out the strongest to treat me.
I am debating on going on that and not wait for a Lyme friendly Lyme literate doc to open his mind and treat me.
Just hoping you'll write me on Dr C. Thanks! MO Sue
