I have been having symptoms since early fall and am seeking a doctor in NJ- any advice? I am currently going through the testing now (after all this wasted time) and my first lymes test was positive, so I went to the lab today for the western blot test. Is this too late to treat at this point? I have the severe muscle/joint pain and weakness, fatigue, tingling and now my chest is hurting.
Any advice is appreciated. Maureen

Sorry to hear about the rough time that you are going through. As a long-time Lyme sufferer myself, your situation sounds all too familiar.
Have you considered going to a Lyme Support Group? I live in South Jersey (Medford) and frequently attend a meeting held every month in the Burlington County Library in Cinnaminson (just off Route 130). There may also be a support group closer to you (check out the Support Groups link on the left side of this page). These meetings are very informative and while there, you may be able to find out the name of a few LLMDs in our area. I highly recommend it.
I go to a LLMD in Central Jersey who is just FANTASTIC. She has helped me gain my life back. Hopefully, you will find someone who can do the same for you.
If you would like more information concerning the support group in Burlington County, send an e-mail to [email protected] .
Good Luck

Thanks so much, my husband actually grew up in Southampton. Can you give me the name of the doctor (you can email it to [email protected]) you see in Central Jersey. I work up in Monmouth County, so I wouldn't mind seeing someone up there. I did just start on my antibiotics, 100 mg of oral domoxycycline 2x a day for 21 days. I want another opinion though to make sure this is the right course of action. I saw an Infectious Disease doctor in Galloway, NJ yesterday who specializes in lymes. They don't do IV antibiotic treatment there and from what I was reading that may be the appropriate course of treatment for me, so I don't want to screw this up.
Thanks, Maureen
