posting this for a good friend. We think she was bitten & infected over 10 years ago. Have been to a few different doctors, but haven't had much relief in the form of treatment. There's not much help here in Michigan, and many doctors don't even recognize Lymes as a valid diagnosis.
Any advice or referrals to specialists would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

We need some additional information about your friend. What are his/her symptoms? What, if any, testing has been done? What is current treatment?
Why don't you suggest that your friend come on LymeNet to post? That way we'd have accurate information to work from...

She is not very computer "literate" so she and her husband asked me to post here. I will try to find out more about the questions you asked.
Thanks again! I realize it's better to have the actual person post here but thought I could just relay the info about any specialists or doctors that would be recommended in the area.

I know of a couple in Western Penn. How far is THAT for you??(friend)
LLMD's are VERY hard to come by so miles should be considered less than quality of care once your THERE!!!

Hello, My doctor Dr. Markowitz in Kego Harbor Mi. About a six week waiting list for new patients. He treats for Lyme and is treating me. There are only two LLMD's in Mich. The other one is Dr. Ledke in Saginaw. He has a 1 1/2 year waiting list.
Hope this helps.

I know there are two other LLMD's in Michigan other than the ones bigstan mentioned. I'm seeing one and my friends father is seeing another.
