I am being treated with antibiotics for potential Lyme disease and am concerned about the bites. Necrosis has been developing on multiple bites, and I wonder if that is typical?
The Story... I woke up with two bites, each on either side of my chest. I wouldn't have noticed them except they had formed two large blisters...which I popped. Underneath, there was a round area very pink, but not particularly harmful. Over the next few days, I developed a rash of small bites over my chest back and head, none of them as serious but all with the basic blister form, some of which have now turned into open sores. At the same time, the original two bites have widened and necrosis has started.
Because one of the bites in particular had a very distinct ring around it, I naturally thought it was a tick bite. The other just had a red rash around it. The small bites have all gradually gone from blisters to open sores which have expanded in size. I went to the doc who put my on lyme disease meds.
Now the necrosis is just getting worse, and my concern is if this is ticks (I never found a tick), or if I'm dealing with some other sort of bite, such as a spider bite. It reminded me of recluse bites, but not severe.
Any advice? Is there a doctor in the area I can see or send pictures to.
