I wasn't sure where to post for answers to this, but I am wondering if anyone has gone through CA SSI, SSDI, medi-cal, medicare, medicaid and can help me.
Background on me- I am 24 years old. I will be quiting my job Jan 1, but my company does not offer disability. I cannot afford cobra (which will be about $800). I cannot physically work anymore. I have been in treatment for 3.5 years. I went undiagnoised for 10+ years.
What I need- State Disability. Medicare/Medicaid Insurance benefits. And anything additionally that I can get!
Basically I have worked through all of my treatment to get health benefits. I am at a point in my treatment where I can no longer do the treatment and contintue to work. I am not functioning. So, I need to figure out what I can qualify for so that I can continue treatment. Cobra at $800 month isn't feasible, so it's imparrative that I find supplemental health benefits.
I am pretty over whelmed at where to even start with this. I have little support from family and have been able to manage everything on my own up to this point. Obviously I didn't do that great because 3.5 years later I am not a lot better and trying to figure out how to get disability.
I've read about SSP, SSDI, SDI-I have no clue where to start.
Anyone that has any suggestions (besides going to the website, which I have done) please pm me or e-mail me at [email protected]
Thank you, smiles

Trying to recall back to when I applied.
I do recall the confusing and it taking me awhile.
I also recall having a window of opportunity and things not being as difficult as I thought.
Did not go into office.
I think I received a phone call, but not sure.
Denied at first. I think.
Then got an attorney.
don't think attorney did much at all even SS office said it was a waste of funds.
Contacted several state rep's. One responded 6 months after contact.
Doc also wrote an excellent report for me.
A few days after hearing from state rep, I heard from SS.
I went into office for an appt. Not sure what the appt was about.
But, got a check the first of the month..I think.
