Hi -
After three months of symptoms, I've been diagnosed with a Lyme co-infection by an infectious disease doc.

My main symptom is tingling in hands and feet; some muscle twitching and sore joints.

He put me on three weeks of Doxy based on clinical evaluation and then had me do the bloodwork. It was then that the co-infection showed up positive.

He now wants me to give it 6-8 weeks to see if I get better before doing another round of antibiotics. Not sure that this is the best course or not. Not even sure he is LLMD. So, any help would be very much appreciated!

Hi, [hi] bikerb--your instinct is correct, waiting to see if you will "get better" is so WRONG! You need treatment now because a few weeks of abx is NOT enough.

And WELCOME to our lyme site. We're glad you came to us for help.

I have sent you a private message (pm), click on the flashing envelope. I have help on the way!

Also, check out our great "Medical Questions" forum where you can ask all the questions you might have and our wonderful, knowledgeable members will answer them. Just read some of the threads and you'll see just how informative they are!

I'm sorry but I am no longer accepting any private messages due to my own battle with lyme.
