I removed a Tick from my thigh 3 days ago. My boyfriend used a lit cigarette to get it to release itself from my leg and it did. I later read that it was probably not the best way to remove the tick. As far as I know the tick was there on my thigh for about 3 hours. The strangest thing happened to us, we went fishing and after awhile noticed that we were completely covered in Deer Ticks.. top to bottom front and back.. just all over us! Anyhow that was the only tick that we found was the one in my leg. Now three days later I am beginning to get a very small but painful rash in the bite area. Last nite I had very bad pain in the bladder, constantly going to the bathroom, pain in the pelvic area, twitching throughout my body, and chills. Could it hit me that quickly? Also from january to the end of March I had so many symptoms of Lyme Disease that every dr I had seen sent me for Lyme test which all came out negative. Is it possible that I already had Lyme Disease previously. I only just started to feel better in April, and now I just find a tick on my leg. After day 3 from the tick bite I was just prescribed Doxycycline 100mg twice a day for one month, which I will start taking tonite, But I read online that the dose isn't high enough? I am really afraid, and am in need of a doctor who has more knowledge of Lyme Disease. Could you please recommend someone in the Albany NY area, or somewhere within 50 miles of Albany.
