I'm looking for a LLMD in IL for over 18.

My family and I tent camp in some very woodsy areas several times per year. I began having symptoms about 3 years ago of fatigue, feeling fluish, and headaches. Now I have sharp stabbing sensations, muscle pain & weakness, joint pain, and intermittent swelling of joints are some of the symptoms that I have.

I was negative for the ELISA test but my symptoms have gotten worse since then. I have had TONS of tests with no positive results other than a vitamin deficiency (D & B12). Supplements did not help the symptoms though, they're worse than ever!

Any help on finding a doctor that is knowledgeable in Lyme and coexisting infections would greatly be appreciated!!

Thank you!

Thanks Siciliano for the info that you sent! I haven't gotten through all of it yet (my concentration sucks, to be blunt). I will check out the Medical Questions section that you suggested.

Thanks again for all of your help!

Thanks everyone for all your feedback!

Just found out that an acquaintance that lives in my neighborhood (not a big town so we see each other a lot) was diagnosed with Lyme about six months ago.

With all of your help and her input as well, I'm seeing a LLMD in a few weeks.

Also, I have found a lot of information in the Medical Questions section that you suggested I check out, Siciliano. There are some symptoms that I forgot about one of which was having a super bad reaction to a tetanus shot a few years ago!

I'm hoping I'm finally on my way to getting answers even though it's going to be a long road to recovery.

Thanks again everyone for all your help!

Well, it's official, after seeing the doc on Wednesday, I have Lyme and Babs.

I am so happy to finally have some answers! [Smile] Scared as hell about the future treatment and symptoms getting worse but I have several friends and family that are willing to help.

My doc rx'd clarithomyocine, a probiotic, and some meds for pain. Should I take the whole list of vitamins that Burrsacano suggests with treatment?

it can if your on abx for a while, many llmds will prescribe one or the other as a safe guard.

you might ask your llmd about it you dont want to end up with a nasty case of c diff !

and definatly take the probiotics daily !

Maintain a good diet while on abx... no sugar, white foods, too many fruits... limit them to one a day.

If you have more medical questions...you will get more replies over in "Medical."
