I moved from NH to CO five weeks ago, and brought Lyme Disease with me.
I had a tick bite followed by the EM rash and was started on Doxycycline a week before my 3 day drive West.
I got very sick during the trip, and my Vet called to say the C-6 Assay results on my dogs were in the 400-500 range (normal is below 30) so they needed treatment for Lyme Disease as soon as possible.
The bad news is that none of the Vets or medical people around my new home are familiar with Lyme Disease because "there isn't any here."
The good news is that although I am sure there is some here, Colorado is certainly not endemic like NH was (I had Lyme Disease from a tick bite the same time the previous year).
My greatest fear is that I won't be able to find a Lyme Literate health care provider here.
I can hardly walk on my swollen left ankle after 6 weeks of antibiotic treatment, but every doctor I see reads the IDSA guidelines and says I've already been overtreated.
Anyone know of a LLMD in the state of Colorado?
Thanks in advance! Kristin

- Hi, Kristin.
I don't usually work with lists here but see that there has been an explosion of requests and the person(s) doing this are probably very overwhelmed.
Until someone sends you a PM with a list, you might find your area lyme support group and start there. Good luck.
