I was hoping to find a doctor who might be able

to help diagnose or possibly rule out Lyme

disease as a cause for some symptoms I've been

experiencing.

About 2 months ago (late May/early June), I was

bitten by 2 ticks within a week's time. I

developed some mild flue symptoms, fatigue,

muscle pain and weakness. I saw a doctor who had

me tested for Lyme and gave me doxycycline, but

the test came back negative and I was told to

stop taking the antibiotics.

Symptoms went away after a another week or two,

but then I started having more severe muscle pain

and weakness in my limbs, pain in joints,

tingling, numbness, and back pain (more than

usual, anyway). I also developed what I thought

was a oddly-shaped bruise, but may have been a

rash. I saw the doc again, and was even tested

again, but that came back negative, so Lyme has

not really been taken seriously since then.

Being college-aged, alcohol was a pretty regular

part of my life, so that may have had some effect

on my immune system. Also, I'm a pretty anxious

guy to being with, and my anxiety definitely

seems to exacerbate symptoms.

Are there any good doctors in NC that I might be

able to see to figure this out? Given how bad

this disease can get, I'm eager to either

diagnose it or rule it out as a problem. It just

fits too well to disregard it too quickly.

Thanks
