Hi, new to site. My husband suffers from Lyme and has been treated once with 4 weeks of IV anti-biotics two years ago.

He's terribly sick again (same symptoms) but none of his drs will try the treatment again.

We'll travel if necessary but would love to find someone in WA state. Also open to Id, OR, or CA.

Thank you so much for any guidance!!

You've asked for 4 states, so here are some details about each:

I hope you get some good referrals in Washington state. There are a couple LLMD and some LL NDs (naturopathic doctors) there, too.

The well known, Dr. K, is in the Seattle area.

There are no lyme support groups listed in Washington state and the excellent website for the state group is no longer in action.

There may be a lyme support group that is just not registered with LymeNet, so do ask around. Ask at the support groups for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. They may know of some who've gone on to get lyme treatment.

Call Bastyr Naturopathic University. They can give you a couple LL NDs names and maybe, some LLMDs.

Some Washington on-line support groups have links at the bottom of this page:

==============================

Oregon is a terrible place to be for any lyme patient.

Oregon has zero LLMDs - and zero-tolerance for any talk about lyme. And that is not likely to change as the IDSA has a strong hold and teams with insurance companies to deny treatment.

The Oregon Medical board takes swift action against doctors who openly treat chronic lyme. Several who tired lost their medical license.

Doctors here are told there is no lyme in Oregon - or on the off chance a doctor may think differently, they would treat with just a few days' of a single Rx (where a combination is best), and also ignore chance of other tick-borne infections.

There are a couple ILADS-trained LL ND (naturopathic doctors), but you have a few excellent LL NDs in Washington, too.

================================

As for California, yes, there are several good LLMDs there and California law protects those doctors who treat chronic lyme (the opposite of what happens in Oregon).

California Lyme Disease Association (CALDA) is a non-profit corporation acting as the central voice for all tick-borne disease issues. An excellent website for anyone in any state.
