Tested positive for Lyme Disease in 2008 (finally shamed my family doctor into testing me for it). I took Cefuroxime Axetil 500mg for 4 weeks and felt better. (I am allergic to Tetra-cycline & so have not been given Doxy-cycline)

Unlike many doctors, mine at least, believes that the disease is recurring & tells me to call in & ask for a refill in the anti-biotic when I feel the symptoms of another bout coming on (usually starts with low-grade headache & general achiness all over - kind of like the flu).

I am currently beginning to have major pain & aches in knees, elbows, and finger joints, and am wondering if I need to be more pro-active in diet & supplements, so am looking for a doctor who works with a lot of Lyme patients vs my doctor who has treated 3 the entire time he's been in practice.

I live in Little Rock, AR and have not been able to find a Lyme Disease specialist in the state. Thank you for your time and help.
