Hi derk,
Sorry to hear of your condition. Those symptoms all sound familiar. Between my husband and me, we've got them all, too.

I'm not in California. It would help you to get more responses if you edit your Topic to include the Northern California location, which is where you seek a doc.

Best wishes.

Derk, since nobody has replied, I suggest you contact the support groups in your state and those near you. Just go to "Support Groups" on left side of page.

Ask them who is getting people well. That's the doc you want.

Lots of doctors treat lyme disease, but only a few know enough to get rid of it for a person. That's what I learned.

It is now 6 years since I completed my lyme treatment and I am still symptom free. I went to a total of 3 lyme doctors in all.

Often, the first doctor you go to, when you don't know anything about treating lyme, turns out to not be very good. So, educate yourself about this complex disease, and you will make a better choice of a first doctor.

Don't go by location, or insurance coverage, or cost. You want the doc who knows how to get rid of this disease. Generally, that doctor will have a long waiting list.

I am on the east coast, so I can't send you any names for Calif.

You can also make a new post and call it "Need Dr. in N. Calif."

That will get the attention of those in California. WHen you don't put the state in the title of the post, lots of people pass by the post. They don't open up all the posts to see the state because it is too time consuming.

I also strongly suggest you read the Burrascano lyme treatment guidelines found here:

http://www.ilads.org/lyme_disease/B_guidelines_12_17_08.pdf

My friends and I all got rid of this disease by going to doctors who followed the Burrascano protocol--high doses of combinations of antibiotics, treating for all coinfections based on symptoms, taking required supplements, no alcohol, smoking, or steroids of any kind, and doing a weightlifting program as stated in the Guidelines document.

You can ask the support groups for doctors who follow Burrascano. You can also ask the doctor's office when you call to make an appointment.
