- Sadly, there are no LL MDs in Oregon. Lyme is aggressively discounted by the Oregon medical board. It's a very hostile state for anyone with lyme or other tick-borne infections.
Most doctors really are just not educated about lyme, et.al. - although some really do intend to kick all the lyme patients out of state.
That said, there are a few who are quietly learning on their own and who may be able to offer some kind of adjunct support - to find those, contact the OLDN.
Most patients have to travel up to the Seattle area or down to California.
However, there are a couple ILADS-educated LL NDs (naturopathic doctors) in Oregon.
For a various options of Support Groups - and LL NDs in state and LL MDs out of state, contact: -----------------
In the thread below, you can find more detail here about what an ND is (naturopathic doctor). In Oregon, they are licensed to prescribe antibiotics and some are ILADS-educated. -----------
Links to many articles and books by holistic-minded LL doctors of various degrees who all have this basic approach in common:
Understanding of the importance of addressing the infection(s) fully head-on with specific measures;
Knowing that support supplements are important, but NEVER enough alone. And knowing which supplements have direct impact, which are only support and which are both.
You can compare and contrast many approaches.
