I'm looking for help finding a doctor on the Sunshine Coast of B.C. specifically, or any where near Vancouver, B.C. would do.
I have just discovered (48hours ago)that my 11 year old son very likely has lyme. He had the rash at 4 years old, but I didn't know what it was. He has had knee, feet problems, dizziness, confusion, lymph node inflamation, and more, and in the last few months his symptoms have increased greatly. He currently is unable to walk unassisted without falling.
I'm feeling pretty upset, but also a little relieved to have a direction to go in.
I'm pretty sure this is what's wrong with him. My nurse aunt saw his rash all those years ago too, as her daughter had ring worm at the time so we compared and discussed his rash at length. She confirmed that she recognized the EM rash from photos online. She feels horrible as a health care provider that she was ignorant about that type of rash at the time.
The first doctor I saw after recognizing the symptoms of lyme told me he had a sinus infection and to put him on anti histamines, gave me a prescription for penicillin, and pushed me out of the office, WITHOUT EVER SEEING HIM. (I had gone in first so as not to scare him while I explained what I thought was going on.) This even when I told the doc I had had to pretty much carry him to the waiting room. So I really need to find some one lyme literate
Sorry thats a long post to ask for help with a doctor. .. I'm sure you all know this is a scary thing to be looking at for my child.
THANK YOU FOR ANY INFORMATION YOU MAY HAVE!
Blessings.

Wow.. so sorry to hear this!! I hope someone comes along with info for you. I can send you a bit of info, but I think the main Dr in BC is no longer practicing.
I have info for Washington state as well.
You may want to post the medical info on your son over in Medical Questions for more feedback.

Thank you the information. I really appreciate it. I have found a couple of leads and I'm set to try to get in to a LL Natural Doctor. If he can't get us in soon I'm going to try the ones you forwarded to me. The one I'm trying first has treated many Lyme patients, so thats good news. This is all so strange, when I read all the symptoms and viewed the EM rash online I thought that I had finally found the answer I'd been looking for and that I'd be well on my way to helping my son feel better through western med. I had no idea there was so much controversy out there over this. Good thing I believe more in alternative therapies. Thanks again for your help. I guess one day soon I'll understand what all those letters and number mean on your signature, but I hope you are feeling well.

Those are my Igenex results... Basically I am considered negative but was clinically diagnosed as acute chronic by Dr. M. in BC..
I was tested for Bartonella in BC and they have good testing methods that can be done by any doctor here.
I am also a big believer in Alternative medications.
I'm taking lots of notes and have secured an appointment with a LLND for my son in a couple of weeks.
I'm also a big believer in alternate medicine, so I'm reading all I possible can to get an idea as to what we are going to do.
Feeling a wee bit less panicked and trying to focus on feeling blessed that we have discovered this now not much later.
