Welcome but sorry for the reason you are here.

Sad to say, there are no Lyme Literate MDs in Oregon.

Lyme is very "controversial" in Oregon and most doctors are either not educated about lyme and other tick-borne infections, against it or afraid to learn more / treat for fear of loosing their license if they do treat (it has happened).

We hope that changes someday but the medical community in Oregon has a strong track record against lyme, in principle.

However, there are several ILADS-educated LL NDs (naturopathic doctors).

In Oregon, NDs are licensed to prescribe antibiotics and other pharmaceuticals. Be sure that any ND you might see is ILADS-educated. More below about what that means.

Many patients go out of state to see LLMDs &/or see a LL ND in state.

The (volunteer, lay) Oregon Lyme Disease Network recently had to close due to lack of donations but here are the groups within 2 hours' drive:

Eugene Support Group: 541-342-3041

Portland Support Group: 503-625-7033

Lyme in Oregon - the Kaiser Papers

(not by Kaiser but about Kaiser's approach - and this also reflects the approach by MDs in general in Oregon).

It's important to read through this so that you have an idea of the atmosphere.

I am sorry that it's more difficult here, still, many do get better. Best of luck to you.

Just sent the name of a LLMD in Vancouver, WA just across the river. There are others in WA, too but that would be another post to get the best replies (the same for California).
