My husband appears to have symptoms of Lyme Arthritis. Local MDs thought he fractured his wrist, earned he has had bouts of gout in years gone by. A MRI and x-rays do not show a fracture. I believe it is Lyme Arthritis because he removed a deer tick while hunting in December and starting having very painful symptoms about 3 months later, including swelling in his arm, elbow, and fingers. I "diagnosed" him after doing some Internet research and finding out that his symptoms fit the picture of Lyme Arthritis. Does anyone know of a GOOD doctor who understands this problem? He has seen 3 doctors and I, the only lawyer, am making this diagnosis....Please help...Many thanks!

There are VERY few lyme doctors in Florida and only one that I recommend. He is in Tampa.
If you are willing to go to Tampa, let me know and I will send you his name and some information.
Many in Florida fly north for their lyme treatment. That's how bad it is.
There is a top notch lyme doctor in Washington D.C. who will do telephone appointments after the initial in-person appointment.
So, if you are willing to make a trip to D.C., let me know and I will give you info on that doc also. I have lots of info on the doc. You can't go wrong with this one.
Latest I heard the wait was 8 weeks to get in.
Keep advocating for that man, counselor. Good for you for finding LymeNet. Until you get to a true lyme specialist, nothing good is going to happen.
The best thing you can do is read and STUDY the Burrascano Lyme Treatment Guidelines found here:
This document will give you your education on this disease and will also tell you what good lyme disease treatment looks like. It is the most successful lyme treatment protocol in the world and it is used around the world. It is a 4-pronged approach:
antibiotics (high dose, in combinations) supplements (many of them) diet (to prevent intestinal yeast--thrush), and exercise (1 hour of weight lifting every other day)
I had undiagnosed lyme disease for at least 10 years before a doctor thought to test me for lyme disease.
I finally got rid of my disease when I switched to a doctor who followed the Burrascano protocol. He did everything you see in the Guidelines.
I completed my treatment 7 years ago and I am still symptom free, enjoying my life. I had lyme, babesiosis, and bartonella. In other words, I was a typical lyme patient. Had the 2 most common coinfections along with the lyme.
You can't get rid of lyme until you treat every single infection the tick gave you. This takes an expert to figure all of this out. Just like it says in Burrascano.
Let me know if I can help you further.

There are many doctors treating in Florida. It's more of an underground thing and names are being passed from person to person, very carefully. We have no laws protecting our doctors in Florida.
Dcp, PM me if you want more info.
Most Florida Lyme patients are now treating in Florida, few are going out of state.
