If someone could please PM me with info for a good LLMD in Northern NJ, I would be so thankful.
I never took lyme disease very seriously, even though my brother had it really bad about 10 years ago and lyme also put a major whooping on my dog twice.
I've had many of the symptoms since I was about 17, I'm 31 now. I always just ignored them thinking it was mostly in my mind. Well things have gradually gotten a lot worse and now I'm having serious shortness of breath and chest pain that no doctors can explain.
I hunt, fish and work with wild animals all the time. I've pulled more ticks out of me than I can count. I've lost some of the heads inside my body and I've had weird rashes around some of the bites. Some ticks were big, some were tiny. Some spots where I've been bit still have small marks that haven't gone away for several years.
At first I was put on steroids because they weren't sure what was wrong with me. Then doxycycline hyclate which I'm still taking.
However some of my symptoms actually seem to be getting worse. And I'm to the point where I can't do anything. I've barely moved in the last 3 weeks.
I looked at the laundry list of symptoms and have a good majority of them. Some very severe, some I would dismiss as just normal.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Just getting on the computer to look this up is wiping me out.
Thanks ---Matt

First of all, don't let any doctor give you any more steroids of any kind--not pills, not injections into joints, not nasal sprays, nothing!
"More evidence has accumulated indicating the severe detrimental effects of the concurrent use of immunosuppressants including steroids in the patient with active B. burgdorferi infection. Never give steroids or any other immunosuppressant to any patient who may even remotely be suffering from Lyme, or serious, permanent damage may result, especially if given for anything greater than a short course. If immunosuppressive therapy is absolutely necessary, then potent antibiotic treatment should begin at least 48 hours prior to the immunosuppressants." (page 12)
Read and study this document to get your education on this disease and to find out what good lyme treatment looks like.
I suggest you find a doctor who follows the Burrascano protocol. Ask when you call to make the appointment. That's how I and my friends got rid of lyme.
If the doc follows Burrascano, you have the best chance of getting well. Burrascano was the lyme disease pioneer, and he was the most successful lyme doc on the planet until he retired a few years ago.
If you don't get any good names, let me know and I can give you some good names outside of New Jersey.
You can also contact the lyme support groups in your state and nearby states. See Support Groups on left side of page.

Hello Matt - I suffered from Lyme, Babesia, Bartonella and Ehrlichiosis for 7.5 years. I tried every possible 'natural' remedy I could find for years with little to no help. I worked with oral AB's off and on for a few years with little to no help. It wasn't until I did IV AB's that I finally got my life back. Now, 6 mo's after completion I'd say I'm 90% better!!!
Regarding doctors: I saw Dr. G (women) in Northern NJ who is supposed to be a Lyme guru. She dismissed my symptoms and accused me of being a drug addict! Needless to say my experience with her was PAINFUL.
Following the post above I 100% agree with following Burrascano's advice. It was through Dr. Burrascano that I found Dr. J (man) in Washington DC. While very expensive and a very long waiting list he is the one who restored my health and brought me back to the brinks of total emotional and physical destruction as a result of chronic Lyme.
I wish you the best of luck. Write me if you have questions related to my experience!
