i saw him for a few years. He's aggressive which is good, very expensive but does spend alot of time. The first visit is very long about 4 hours as he does a total assesment and physical. His staff is a toss up some are nice some are absolutley disgusting if that is important to you. Years ago he used to be the "it" lyme dr. but since then many more lyme drs. have popped up which makes his rates today hard to understand. If you don't mind paying the fees he charges he is a good lyme dr...he doesn't push any supplements or herbs just good old abx.. but there are many other drs. today who give the same treatment and have much more reasonable fees. you won't go wrong with him though if as i stated you don't mind the high fees he charges and some awful staff. He overlooked treating some coinfections that i had which he should have figured from my symptoms..that was really my only complaint as well as the way my wife was treated by some of the staff.

He doesn't follow the Burrascano protocol. He does his own thing. (He wrote a book about it years ago.)
Burrascano says it takes a 4-pronged approach to get rid of this disease:
high dose combinations of antibiotics supplements diet exercise (weight lifting for one hour every other day)
-------- I suggest you read and STUDY the Burrascano protocol to get your education on this disease and to find out what good lyme treatment looks like. The document is here:

once again someone is giving bad advice about something and someone she knows nothing about and has never even met.dr. l has a friend (dr z) who he will work with if you want to add a regime of herbal supplements. ( i did that for a while) and he actually is quite adept at treating coinfections... my case was unusual but he definitly will treat if he suspects or if you ask him to..and please DO NOT lift weights of any kind unless your condition and dr. allow it. I once threw my back out in the first few months of treatment just from opening the garage door. Some lonley people like to post for the wrong reasons.

mick, TF is NOT a "Miss know it all" or lonely person, as you have stated in this post and another. Neither does she deserve disrespect.
She successfully treated and recovered from her own Lyme a long time ago, and does everyone at Lymenet the service of coming on here and offering a great deal of help. She knows a great deal about proper Lyme treatment and the individual LLMD's.

You shouldn't have to "ask" your LLMD to treat co-infections.

I had to ask mine to test for coinfections...that is why I am searching for a new doctor. I agree that if they are a trained LLMD, you should not have to ask to test.

Dr. L allows and reccomends that patients who have been cured, but who live in endemic areas to use profolactic abx. i have been cured for 2 years and continue to use abx as a profolactic, as well as 3 months of mepron every year ...my dr. gives it to me and all cured patients who "just ask"
