I was bit about 11 days ago. I had a classic bulls-eye rash and still have a big circle with a distinct red center. It is very hot to touch. I went to a walk-in family health clinic. I was given 200mg of Doxycline to take for 10 days. I am nervous that this isn't enough. I want to make sure I get this taken care of in early stages.
Can someone refer me to a LLMD in Pittsburgh? I can also travel, if need be. I don't have insurance...

Thank you.

I'm over 21 years old.

I am sending you a private message with PA info.

In the following important document, on page 19, you will see the Rx that Dr B recommends for early localized Lyme disease (Erythema migrans rash with no constitutional symptoms)...at least 6 weeks of Rx .

On page 18 you will see the dosage of doxy he recommends...200 mg twice daily (and up to 600 mg daily sometimes needed).

http://www.ilads.org/lyme_disease/B_guidelines_12_17_08.pdf

Be sure to take your doxy 1/2-3/4 of the way through a big meal to help prevent nausea (very common)...and protect yourself carefully from the sun.

Unfortunately, most LLMDs (Lyme-literate doctors) don't take insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease and its complex treatment.

You might want to click on "Support Groups" in the upper left-hand corner of the Lymenet page, then "PA". Contact information will come up. Maybe they can help you.
