Hi everyone. I'm JS8 and I'm new here. I need help! Let me start by explaining my situation.
It will be 5 years this July since my symptoms began - about 4 weeks after the birth of my second child. It began with severe diarrhea and a terrible all over flu like ache that would leave me unable to even get off the couch.
The flu like ache started out only lasting a few hours a day and happening for a couple weeks, then it would be gone for a couple weeks, making me think it was related to my menstrual hormonal cycle.
The horrible all over ache and "sick all over like I'm coming down with influenza" feeling is now all day/night, every day. I also have additional symptoms now - jerking ticks in my legs and other areas of my body and extreme mental fog. I also frequently "misread" words - for example, once I drove by a fruit stand and read the sign as saying "free" several times. After re-reading it like 5 times, not being able to believe it, I realized it said something like "for sale"! I can only function if I take prescription pain meds, which my doc gives me sparingly for back pain, or over the counter tylenol with codeine. I am desperate and so sick of being sick. I've seen every doc you could imagine - my pcp, an endocrinologist, a natural doc, even a psycologist. I've been told to suck it up, it's all in my head, even "maybe you're just lazy" (no, I'm not making that up). PLEASE help me find a LLMD because I really think that may be what is wrong with me!
Thank you! <3

Click on "Support Groups" in the upper left-hand corner of the Lymenet page, then "MI". Contact information will come up. Maybe they can help you.
Btw - please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.
So sorry you're going through this. "It's all in your head" is a typical diagnosis when the non Lyme-literate doctors don't know what's wrong with a patient!

Good news - Dr. Z had a cancellation on Monday in the morning, so I am going then! Yay! I'll update on the apt when I get home...
