My 16 yo son was diagnosed with Lyme 2 years ago. He apparently had it for a year before his knee became very swollen. Fluid was drawn and tested, and we were told that he had Lyme. He is currently suffering with some pretty bad joint and back pain. He is fatigued all the time, and can barely get around. He is miserable! I would like to get him an appointment with someone that is familiar with Lyme. The last appt. we had was with the orthopedic dr./sports medicine, and he wanted to refer him to a rheumatologist. Help!

PM sent for CT (I don't know of any in Maine).
Your son needs to be seen by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Others have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment.
